whatever questions you want I don't have a whole lot prepared for tonight but I am messaging people I messaged brother uh I miss you well I miss you too Jules I messaged brother uh Joe Adams earlier to see if he wants to come on maybe and also I'm getting set up with the stuff I'm not all the way set up I'm about 90% of the way I've got uh the shores some 7B mic that you see on all the on all the podcasts um and I bought a DSLR today and apparently I still need to get a mini USB um mean a USB core to usba a you guys have no idea what that means unless you're up for photographer but I got to get that and set that up as well so I can use it for these lives with OBS Studio on my uh MacBook Pro so that'll be fun Lord willing I'm really excited about that and um don't have a whole lot of questions but please ask me questions whatever you guys want how can I how can I help I'd love to help but I'm going to pray and then I'll get into these uh questions gracious father thank you for get people to answer ask questions whatever you guys want to ask I don't have a whole lot of people sent in so what I'll do is I'll just uh fill in the gaps with questions that I find online so we'll see what we can do Lord willing hope everybody's having a fun day I didn't mean to start so late but I am here and I will certainly do my best um see let me look this up on L here having a great day what's up Grace Smith welcome to the live all right so I'm going to fill in the gaps here when people aren asking questions with stuff I read online and we'll go from there we realing I'm looking I'm working on getting other guests on lot people just say no and uh unfortunately there's been so many people that it seems like they have no better ideas or things to do in life than to trash talk me and the podcast but hey that's fine not upset over what's up L what's up Josh brainy welcome to the live so I'm I answer the first question that came in then I'll go with some other ones so someone asked how can I get better at sales um and depends on what you mean by sales but basically sales is connection is it's got a bad rep what's up brother Kevin how's it going so brother Kevin for future reference I bought a sh7b and and a DSLR um and I've got the a wave XLR interface as well got's Grace and some other stuff and I'll be using that in a little while to uh do the next stream maybe tomorrow the next day so upgrades people upgrades so in the future actually you know what I can just show you guys why not I don't care my room's messy who cares um so I've got that set up there I have this um this little thing right here that's going to go on the top there and then on top of there is going to be this DSLR right here and this Shores from 7B this is the same mic that Joe Rogan all the other podcasters use um so got to get the cords managed and all that the reason why it's not perfect uh like it was before is because the uh company I'm working for sent me a new laptop so I work for a sales and marketing agency and their clients need help selling things so I got assigned to a client that wouldn't let me use the uh lapt that didn't want me to use the laptop that I bought they wanted me to use their own laptop so I've got a you know it kind of jumbled everything so I've got uh what's up Sister Laura Lin so I've got the setup here um also got all sorts of different lights that I'm going to try to try out to get them to work properly Lord willing should be pretty cool uh my goal is to produce the best quality for you guys because you guys deserve it and uh that is the goal Lord willing also cost a lot of money unfortunately but hey that's the goal we got to do our best it's all we can do okay people are sending me sending questions to me I'll be right back the video kind of like YouTubers do online um the goal is to provide content any ideas that you guys have send them my way cuz I'm not stopping I think a lot more questions came in I'll be right back I'm going to grab those all right all right I'm back guys sorry about that um I had to grab these questions but got some cool new questions so someone asked how to get better at sales um just realized what sales isn't connect to people and stop trying to get people to buy things because when you work in sales you work on commission and when you work on commission you you have like an incentive to try to convince someone to buy the most expensive phone or the most expensive plan or whatever else that it is and that's not sales that's just scamming people to get better at sales get better at just focus on connecting with your buyer and focus on learning what they need and what and what they want and what they need and focus on telling them you're there to help them not to scam them you want to help them and learn ask a bunch of questions open-ended questions and then go from there what's up Ruth welcome to the live so the goal is to learn from these people instead of trying to tell them what to buy that's how you get better at sales connect with your prospect connect with your customer with your client give them your phone number tell them you're always there to help it depends what vocation that you're in but you want to break the fourth wall with them like if you're selling a car and they say they don't want to pay a certain amount don't don't try to use some tactic on them they're going to see that am th000 miles away just say hey I want to help you get the best deal I can't sell you the car for almost 50% less than what they're offering is you can give me an offer that uh would look better to my managers than you know write it down here or whatever um be honest be straightforward break the fourth wall and level with these people and connect with them because you don't want to my biggest goal in sales that I've tried my best to do is to make it from customer customer salesman into friend friend connect with them as friends and if you're able to connect with someone then you're able to sell and then you create a client you don't want to just sell someone this the all of the things you want to sell them and get a quick buck and commission and then later on they no longer want to come back to you because they feel like they got scammed but if you're honest with them and you're straightforward and you build a relationship then you can uh move forward my God grace it's just it's better so there's my advice on how to be better at sales um also depends what job you're doing but be willing to say you were wrong and learn constantly and a lot of the things in sales apply everywhere else but just connect with people admit when you're wrong and look for opportunities to grow and be coachable um depends what kind of sales but people want additional questions about that it's kind of a niche thing um someone asked if you weren't in sales what would be your dream job um if I wasn't in sales what what would be my dream job I used still want to be in the NBA and then I changed that because it wouldn't make sense what's up Addison what's up spars hello it wouldn't make sense for me to be in the NBA because I missed a lot of church and just wouldn't make sense then I wanted to be a lawyer then I realized there just be a bunch of uh a bunch of paperwork involved my dream job is an evangelist and uh that'd be a tough job but and uh I I don't really get asked to preach very often at other places other than my home Church but it's okay it's whatever God wants not I'm what I'm not going to do those is uh go to big meetings and advertise myself to the to the well-known preachers and should have told them that I'm a preach I'm not going to do that I'm just not um it's whatever really whatever God wants if I wasn't in sales would be my dream job other than being a uh an evangelist I guess um a dream job would be a a tech setup person so I go to businesses or people's houses or uh or really anywhere and set up their electronics for them or you know to professional people and say hey I can help you make your setup look a lot more electon a lot more professional because pretty much everybody in Tech sales they just get the minimum they get the MacBook they get the thing and they don't uh Billy Bruce did you mean to send a request to join my live you can join if you want but if you accidentally sent it let me know if you did it on purpose I'll let you in but no one really gives it a second thought as far as what their setup looks like how they're perceived they just do the work and that's fine and it's not wrong to do that but I want to set myself apart I was homeschooled I didn't go to college anywhere and I have to try to set myself apart from the people that have mbas and things like that so one of the ways to do that is have a DSLR as my webcam have a have a sh some 7B as my mic um line my walls with acoustic foam and uh I love doing that stuff though I like turning a regular room into something way cooler and something very functional if someone wanted an aesthetically pleasing thing I can help them build that or if they wanted something like more like my setup that's just going to be pure productivity I can help with that too I'm a big nerd on these things so that's what I would do as a dream job I'd also love to go to different stores and help them clean their store so like for instance every retail your store you go to usually they've got a bunch of trash in the back and in the drawers underneath the fixtures they got a ton of garbage because almost every person that gets into these positions does not care about the job they just care about getting a paycheck and they don't really put any effort in because like when I started in Dayton Tennessee when I was uh 20 by God's grace and I uh became the manager there it's like an hour and 10 minutes from my house but I decided I'm going to give it my all so what I did is I clocked out at 7:15 and I stayed there until 3:30 in the morning throwing away what's up Levi what's up throwing away like two dumpsters full of trash and garbage that no one needed just old they had like old signs from four or five years ago that they didn't need anymore that they were told to throw away but they just stuck it stuck it in a corner and did the minimum and never threw it away so throw all that stuff away and set a store up for success that's what I would love to do as a dream job to set people up for success that's why I have this setup it's because I think you know you should set yourself up for success in the best way that you know how in my opinion it just it also um there's perspective people then do it let see what would stop me from doing that from setting all of it up because what's up how's it going what's up Sister Abigail how's it going the thing that would stop me from doing that is the corporate world they don't actually care that their store doesn't look super good um they don't care that not everything is set up um they don't care whether or not people are trained in in the electronics or the maybe on how to connect with people a lot of times in retail they just want Warm Bodies people who are just there to be there and they don't want to pay someone to do something like that unfortunately because another reason why the stores be so dirty is because no one's paid any money to clean them all that you're in sales you know how to talk to people yeah maybe I could Daniel maybe I could I don't know well the reason I don't is because I like the job I have now by God's grace remote work salary plus commission work from anywhere with a laptop and a internet connection and that's super cool in the sales what's up J Mo official how's it going you know so uh questions thoughts concerns guys there's nothing really stopping you though well I have a full-time job that's stopping me um first as far as setting up stores they wouldn't pay that because I actually already offered it when I was working for them and they said no we're not we're not going to have someone do that um and as far as uh setting on people's Electronics I'm working on that actually I'm trying to do a side hustle of offering to help people uh offering to help people set up their Electronics or transfer data from an old phone or whatever else they need honestly I can I can help with that what's up Mike how's it going welcome to the live I have I'm getting my podcast setup mic so Lord willing pretty soon we'll have this uh shome 7B and this DSLR and other things Lord willing I just have to do it next time I'm actually going to try to end this before 11 so I can go to Walmart and grab that cord um but I want to make it as good quality as I can Lord willing that that is the that's the goal willing I'm going to get a membership to the YMCA in Athens about 25 30 minutes for me and I'm going to try to play basketball there at least one at least two or three times a week and get better and try to get back to my old self and then that way when I play Eli cross at at twt I crush him or let him win who knows we'll [Music] see but uh when I was younger I was really competitive I still am but I guess you realize more what actually what actually matters when you get older but it still be nice to beat him [Laughter] honestly that'd be great that would be awesome um but I I could totally do it I I don't feel too bad I didn't play in seven eight years and he plays all the time and I almost beat him so still cool and I didn't Back Him everyone told me back him down back him down I didn't back him down for one cuz I was really tired and for because I think that's disingenuous they'd be like me uh be like me playing a dunk contest against someone that's four feet tall and can't dunk it's just like it's not fair it's not fun it's not cool there's no finesse like when I was younger and I played basketball all the time everyone wanted to put me on uh the center position and I hate it I'm like no I want to be a shooting guard because that's what I train to do I want to be shooting and I want to be finessing people not playing as a center I don't want to just back someone down and beat them I want to finesse them you know do a crossover and spin move and some actual finesse you know so we'll see that would be a lot of fun that'd be awesome it' be cool he hasn't actually came on these lives he came the other day for like 30 seconds and left who knows who knows but um actually when I'm when I'm inviting people in the lives what I'm saying now is by the way I'm just rambling because I have nothing prepared hardly um actually I do have a good question here in a minute but um when I'm asking people for stuff about the lives what about what up what's up Brianna when I'm asking people to join I'm saying Hey by God's grace we've kind of outlasted the critics because they don't join as much and they don't comment Dum things as much all it took was like 70 plus lives next good next question this actually a great question what's the best lesson you've learned in life the best lesson it's a tough question it depends in what kind of lesson you're talking about the best lesson I've learned in life well there's several different ways of approaching that what's up Evan guest and dinner welcome to live one way would be that um that the best advice I've ever received which is I guess a lesson is keep it simple stupid just keep it simple that'd be the best advice I've ever received when I was 16 trying to write up a sermon to preach and dad said what in the world are you writing up and I had no idea either keep it simple uh one of the best lessons I've learned in life also is stop trying to make things happen when it comes to a relationship with a girl and just uh be comfortable with that one be happy with that one and uh trust in God truly that he'll he'll set up that's one of the best lessons I've learned in life also don't drive on uh don't use cruise control on wet roads when when it hasn't rained in months and it just rained last night and you're going up a hill and it goes to the left and it's like a incline don't don't do that you'll fish tail and you'll wreck your car I did that so um that's be one of the best lessons I've learned in life also one of the best ones I've learned by God's grace is do you want to be right or do you want to be effective it does no good to be right all the time it does good to be effective that's another big one I guess what do you guys think what are you guys' uh questions we still got people like yes David thank you it's the seventh time you've told us how you doing brother Trevor welcome to the uh welcome to the live I'm just talking about random stuff what's up sister Annie I asked brother Joe Adams if you'd like to come on the podcast so just pray whatever decision he makes and now actually I sent the I sent the live with brother the jack and said hey see to any you know anybody that that was thinking about it before like hey it's not what you guys thought it was you know but uh here's a here's a piece of advice I can give that people that watch this podcast know about what do you do when people are saying things about you behind your back and they're for instance telling people don't join the lives don't do them because David just does them for clout or attention or whatever else the best thing you can do I'd say one of the main things is disconnect yourself emotionally um and also stop caring cuz and try to shink these down and try to figure out what Spirit are people led by if someone because I've had people tell me like there you go but the Trevor told me a couple times David you sound really mad I know you don't mean to but on your story you sound pretty mad when you're saying this certain thing I was like oh I'm sorry thank you for telling me and I changed it um and other people just criticize to criticize but I'd say one of the main things main things I've learned in life is when people are talking about you behind your back and they're not willing to talk to your face in person and they're not willing to apologize when they're wrong then you know you're doing a good thing what's up Dylan how's it going welcome to the uh welcome to the live and uh one of the things I'm trying to learn in my life too is to stop defending myself and to stop justifying myself I think that that's a great lesson for me to learn I don't actually have to defend myself um but I'm I'm happy that these lives are a thing I want to continue them and I'm trying to figure out I'm trying to make the quality better I started a new job uh and I also uh have a girlfriend now and dad has gone to Puerto Rico my pastor so I'm preaching while he's gone except for this Sunday brother Amos CS is preaching so there's a ton of things on my plate um so it makes it where I can't put as much time into this but I want to brother Trevor says why do you feel like you don't have to defend yourself why do I feel like I don't have to defend myself would um it depends who I'm defending myself to I guess is a way of changing it like I'm talking about something with someone I anyone doesn't need to try to defend themselves when they don't really need to defend themselves I guess you're kidding what's up uh nice good good stuff for the Trevor I know it's a I think it's good to justify your position on things that matter like things in the message but you know we need to treat brother rap crook went through what's up no how's it going but the rap crk went through foolish questions and things like that questions that are just designed to to cause havoc and to just cause Division and they don't actually have any real fruit behind them that's why you know like earlier in all the lives when people would do their best to just try to trap me and I would say okay cool come on you know what I'll tell you a story when Julie and I first started talking we hit it off like instantly and there was a guy that I know that I was curious about how what he would say about me when he didn't know that I was listening and so he was texting Jules and uh I she said oh do you want me to ask him something I was like yeah ask him what he thinks of the lives and there an opportunity as I cuz I wanted CU I thought thought good of this person I want to see if I could trust them completely or if I just need to pray for them and the person told Julie that um I that he hated the David Kain lives and he thought he only needed that he only did it for attention and just to encourage himself and he should stop doing them she said well why don't you just tell him that like oh he'll just kick me off alive well why don't you just get your dad or your pastor to go on there with you and do that because he'd probably be willing to uh go straight forward I will anybody go on a live with a straightforward discussion and if someone feels that I've contradicted the message or something like that I will apologize my most viewed video for a long time was a key title I failed you and he said no way and then she blocked him so there were some people that used to for instance like my dad talks about when he preaches there's some people that separated from my dad and uh there was a there was a friend of of ours that talked to them and said why haven't you guys uh reconciled with brother Tom and they said oh well we was like well what was the original problem and they said well we don't even remember and they he said why don't why don't you just reconcile with him under no circumstances will we reconcile with him anybody that has any issue with any of these I'm I want to reconcile you think I want to be at Arms against random people no I don't I want to reconcile I want to move forward I want to be friends and it's been a hard thing for me to to tell people why I do these lives because they everyone assumes like oh you're just doing it for attention like no I'm doing it to help the original thing that helped people was when at byc there was a girl who got hurt so badly by another guy at the camp that she was balling in front of a bunch of people and her brother was hugging her and she was only 15 and he was in my dorm and uh I said he was a good brother cuz he was hugging her being nice to her and so I knew it' be not appropriate for me to priv the m she's 15 it'd be weird but what I could do and I know she watches watch the stories what I could do is I could go on to what's up Mark I could go on to my story and I could encourage her and I could encourage her with what um with what I know and so I did by God's grace I just put things on there said things randomly not saying who it was but just for the sole purpose of encouraging and by God's grace um her and her father privately texted me saying thank you so much that was so encouraging and that was the main thing in the beginning of these lives that encouraged me to keep going and when people came against it and they hated it and they uh critiqued me for it and all that my thought has always been if it helps one person spiritually it's all worth it I don't care what people behind closed doors have to say and criticize what's up Jerry how's it going because I feel out of God to continue and just to name a few things by God's grace through these lives I met the girl that might become my wife through their lives um I was private messaged by someone who watched the stories what's up Emma who watched the stories on Facebook and he private messaged me because he was about literally about to kill himself we help we able to help him out of that I've had about 30 to 50 different people privately message me apologizing for talking about me behind my back or for apologizing for others or apologizing for the way that they were commenting on the live and then some of those same people that used to be my critics would uh private message me and say hey I was the one that wrote that super mean thing to you and you're not going to lie link and then those same people again asked me for advice what's up Troy Robin so welcome to the live so I'm going to keep on going the best Lear lesson I've learned in life one of the best ones is these lives doesn't matter who comes against you do matter what happens if you feel led to continue you continue if I had listened to people telling me not to do these lives in the beginning I wouldn't have met Julie and I wouldn't have been to help that guy that wanted to kill himself so there's that like oh you're saying you're I'm not saying I'm I'm I'm a Son of God guys that my whole my whole point of this podcast is bringing people on I don't care if it's Emma cochan Jerry Bal or Joy Robinson or Jack Duff anybody in the message anybody even a any Christian can come on this podcast and we can have good conversations that are clean and according to the word of God and are fruitful and enjoyable and constructive and edifying and they will help because the word corrects the error also I just preached Wednesday so I got that on my mind it's been interesting talking with Julie saying hey you're getting to experience different versions of David because I'm a different person after I've preached especially with dad being gone to Puerto Rico it's a whole different burden on me and the sermon title this Wednesday back God's grace was you are safe and uh you have to listen to it people as gra people seem to like it and I hope that it helped um but it was it was really tax on me but one of the things I went through was people tell me well you got to stop doing these lives just casting a bad Shadow on things and so my thought was what spirit would someone be led by to criticize something behind their back and not tell them in person or tell them privately it's not God Spirit CU it's just a demon Spirit of gossip and we all do it we all got to learn to get better of course we're all trying so yeah I I don't know guys I don't have any more questions that anybody has sent me in I can still keep going though my go for a little bit longer I still got Kaylee brother Kevin brother said clarifying questions can be what do you mean by that you know brother brandom actually said what do you mean by like six times I think it's it's a regular thing I think that we should ask it what do you mean by music what do you mean by here's an interesting thing that might spark some uh some thoughts from people when Lauren deagel is singing songs the lyrics are good yes but the spirit that produces and the uh the worship that she's sending to God God can't even receive it's actually worship to the devil because the life's not right so a question to ask I'm not an AB on this I'm just just th to ponder whoa are we worshiping God by listening to someone sing a song that's actually worshiping the devil just a thought just a thought but let's see oh let's go through this actually guys let's let's go through uh these things um mik P says what do you think causes rumors to spread a podcast for one if I let's see I've been talking for 32 minutes on this especially in the beginning this were really long and uh so if you talk a lot people would try to make fun or like someone someone said oh David do you know that there are entire youth groups in the message that watch your podcasts just to make fun of you and I said poor souls that's how they get value at life really man that's really sad oh that mean you shouldn't do on people are making fun of you why would I care what people who aren't LED of the spirit of God do but why what what do you think cost's spread um saying things that people aren't saying out loud and that's one of the one of the points of this podcast is to say what do you mean by these things to actually bring out things that are true like when I said um Lauren dagel isn't someone we should look up to spiritually or let's see what else did I say I let my it was a day after I preached actually and I let my sadness about another thing control me and say you know why why does it seem like girls don't want marriage they just want careers and money hello night okay all right cool I'll be black I'll be Beethoven this Thomas um what do you think causes rumors to spread demon Spirits for one or when I mess up cuz like it's also cancel culture away because people can't fathom what's up Ray um people what's up Thomas people can't fathom that you can actually publicly say something and it be wrong and then apologize and then move forward because modern culture is cancel him cancel that like no it's nor noral to like it hurts to apologize if I say something wrong but you know so what who cares who's next move on with your life did it hurt to make the video title I failed you just talking about how I kicked Cade and uh El like off of the live yeah was it necessary yes because after that live even though I apologized on the same live where I kicked them off I talked to a friend of mine and he said people are saying you didn't come off as genuine and I said really well thank you and I considered doing a public apology in front of a bunch of people at twt but instead because twt was the next day instead I decided to make a video at 1:30 in the morning cuz I genuinely am doing these lives to help am I aware I get attention from it yes is that why I do it no I don't the reason is to help by go Grayson has that's my intention I say it before God that is my true intention is to help because but for some reason when God created me he gave me a brain that retains information and a lot of the advice I give is just from uh people that know a whole lot more than I do so I want to do my best for you guys and I want to uh want to do what God wants me to do basically you hear Thomas walking in the background let's see who do I still have with me by the way Kaylee Kevin Mitch Sharon Mike and Thomas hi what's up what do you guys think you guys got any more questions or whatever what would cause these uh rumors to spread where I actually said things that were wrong and I made mistakes sure that'd be another thing consider that I'm a human and I make mistakes another thing that was very very controversial that I said that I said it on purpose because so many things we say and it's our pet Doctrine on my side when I put my hand here my eyes go Blue for some reason and then they go kind of grayish when I take it off I'm not sure why it does that but whatever one of the things I said that really got people annoyed because people have pet doctrines and they want to hold on to it and say that this is the this is um this is just my opinion of course but I feel that people have circumstantial and hobby righteousness hobby righteousness mean that's a new thing I came up with means that your hobbies happen to be different from others and instead of saying your hobbies are different than others you try to make righteousness out of no out of lack of a hobby for instance when people uh got mad at me because I said watching movies and TV shows and playing video games is no different than uh hiking fishing and hunting oh those things are so much and all these different things and the reason why was to get a conversation going are they the same thing no but is one mut is one better than another no they're all Hobbies my point is there's no righteousness in it so if someone wants to make a righteous statement saying I don't want you any movies or I don't ever hunt all I do is sit sit at home and watch The Lone Ranger or whatever you know there's no righteousness in it it's just a an opinion it actually doesn't get you anywhere for some people don't mind but what it does is it gets conversations going when you say things that are controversial it's it's for a reason and people people can also one of the main things from social media is they can take what you say and interpret in a certain way then attack the interpretation so when I would say things like that someone would say David said watching movies is okay or watching any movie is okay or whatever that's no what I said but that's probably how those rumors got spread but my point of it is to start conversations start things going and to ask what do you mean by movies because it it's such a broad thing to say instead of you know applying it because when I say movies I'm thinking clean ones and not dirty ones what's up Victoria Harvey welcome to the live um other people may thinking bad ones who knows so those are hardly no doesn't matter because the thing that actually saves us is the blood of Jesus Christ and those this one of the things I'm trying to bring out with these is to say things that people don't really say such as let's bring some girls on and ask them how they want to be approached by guys at camps another thing another idea I want to do that I want to do is a live and I've been told that I'm crazy for this but I don't care I want to get approved by girls in the message my sisters and all that saying yes this is a good idea a uh a like a system where you can show a guys in the message hey here's the basics of style and if you had 50 bucks to create a regular to create a wardrobe of things to wear this is what you do because like for instance I was actually talking to uh to somebody about it and they're saying oh well I don't guys can just look it up online look at PR look on Pinterest look on different fashion websites and style websites and figure out what they want to wear and I said yeah guys don't care we're not going to do that the same way you wouldn't the same way a girl wouldn't nerd out but which phone to buy or which gun to buy like a guy would we don't care why did I wear this shirt today because it fits me and because it was in my drawer that is literally all the thought I gave why am I wearing these pants because they fit me and they're my pants I gave literally no other thought than that so my my my idea is is to have a life a shorter one that's more structured say hey we asked 20 girls in the message and they all said this is good of a basic straightforward basics of style for guys this is colors depending on your skin tone neutral colors bright colors whatever says pants shoes according to different price points so like $50 $100 $200 $500 but yeah those are my ideas guys um hold on one second here guys one second I text my dad until I'm doing live so that he knows what's up I can't feel welcome to the live hold on I just texted so I can watch like live like a bench ofo or or maybe an atheist or whatever else videos about uh stuff and react to it that'd be interesting to provide that kind of content size my espresso is good
