one time just as an experiment but I've never seen all of them and it's irritating to me people say the same thing as Lord of the Rings um but to start out how would you explain what Lord of the Rings is to someone that doesn't know and maybe they've heard negative things like oh it's just all wizards and Magic so how would you explain to someone who has never seen it okay Lord the ring the author of Lord the r j are token based off of the Bible obviously uh when they say magic yes they use magic they use magic in the same way that when Gideon asked God for a sign the grass was wet and the fleece was dry that's magic it's God's power like that's what the Magic in Lord of the Rings is it's the power of God or utar and as for what it is as a whole it sorry I just got a message anyway as for what it is as a whole it is is a an Epic Fantasy based on like Christian based on the Bible and very heavily influenced by Christian uh ideals and Foundations interesting okay so when you say like basically like the Bible a lot of people would take that and say that you're saying that um it's basically the Bible are you saying that or what do you mean by um based on Christian values because a lot of people will interpret that and say that you're just saying it's Christian or whatever I say it's based on Christian values it this isn't something that's overtly stated in Lord of the Rings but a theme that you see throughout the whole of it is how things like pride and selfishness create huge problems and what say it's based on uh Bible I don't mean like it is a one one comparison but everyone who ever accomplishes anything in that book what did so because of they because of like Christian ideals like I'll take um the name is failing me I'll take Aragorn because it's an obvious one he he's he's a good guy and the things that he valued he valued honesty he valued Duty he valued doing the right thing whether it was easy or not so like I don't I don't know how else to say it it's not a onetoone comparison but it is like if you read the selan which is like the first chronological order you can clearly see how it was how it was like based on the Bible like there's God who created the um do you remember the word for them not the the Angels but he has his own word for them I don't remember yes he created the Maya before the world was ever made and they worship sh sh him in a song and one of them them uh left his design and tried to put in his own design into the song and that his name was melor which and when he did his own design it threw the whole thing off balance and into Discord it's like you know like Satan did yeah he wanted to become greater so you're saying that the story is directly the entire structure of the story is based directly off of the Bible even some of the names are similar and some of the places and names stuff like that and that it's it's it's a fantasy world right so the ideas of everything is structured in a certain certain way and the way that everything is structured is a lot like Christianity there's a God that creates everything there's a guy that Rebels there's angels that fight Devils there's people that fight evil and the uh the overarch ing um let's say lessons of it are a lot of the same ones that the Bible teaches such as honesty Integrity resist temptation fight no matter what never give up and stay true to people and when you make mistakes get back up again things like that not saying it's it's uh it's not what people accuse it of being they say oh it's just Wizardry and magic and what would you say to that when people are like oh it's just all Wizardry and magic and the Bible says no Wizards okay okay Jr token when he wrote the book Wizard does not mean what it means today wizard had a completely different meaning like and wizard wizard does not mean what it does in the Bible like when Jr when he wrote the book Wizard was not is not the same thing at all again for again for magic that's just how he describes the power of latar who is God and Lord of the Rings like people who use latar power sure you can call it magic that's just his power when we when we see cancer healed you could call it magic it's a miracle it is a natural it's a supernatural magic yeah yeah it's certainly interesting that is a way of doing it I that's uh I always wondered about that until I read in you know the SIM and all that where it's actually they're actually Angels sent by God to help people fight evil L literally that's what they are and I've told that to several people who like wait what really yes now what about people say oh bro Lord of the Rings is really dark so I can't like it because it's just so dark you know we've had this conversation but like so's the Bible like some of the stuff that happened in the Book of Judges was wild you know that remember that one story about how his mistress was abused and died so he cut her into 12 pieces and sent her to the 12 tribes that's a story in the Bible I just like okay that's really dark that just happened yeah I agree because the like these stories people like to just bash things and like no these stories are the embodiment of good versus evil and yes of course evil is going to be betrayed as evil how else would they like to be would they like it to be portrayed um so on something I don't really know that much about har Harry Potter what about Harry Potter what how would you I've never I've never seen I've saw Harry Potter in the prison of asan I I bar remember it but how would you explain it what is Harry Potter exactly in contrast to Lord of the Rings some people said the same thing I said this before but Harry Potter is what people think Lord of the Rings is I call Harry Potter Harry Potter a true fantasy world it has no as far as I'm aware it has no previous basis or thing it's founded on it is a completely madeup world and a fantasy world and like the W Wizards witches and that are much more in the modern term of what you think of them they they use magic and it's not really explained where the magic comes from it just is there it sorry I keep getting messages and it take my attention for half a second um could you ask like specific questions about Harry Potter yeah sure or story what's the basic story uh basic story is there is a there's a evil wizard who is obviously evil there's no question he's evil um he texts he is trying to take over the world and the story follows this one kid who is the destined one to stop him kind of very you know that's the very footnote overview skipping stuff uh ask me another question because I don't know where to go from there because there's so many places to go you're fine how would uh what's up L welcome to live Rand wo well how would you say it differs from Lord of the Rings people have said it's the same thing is it the same thing if it's not explain why no as I said earlier uh when you read the simarillion which is what what I call like the it's a foundational uh beginning book of Lord the Rings it's where everything starts you can clearly see the influence of from the Bible with iluvatar the angels all of that Harry Potter does not have it the world like it just I'm trying to think of how to say this I said there's no Foundation there's no like Source material for it the whole world is made up and Magic kind of exists and it's when it comes vales like like to uh they do portray good values as being good kind of not to the same extent as Lord of the Rings but there's also a lot more uh trying think bluring of the lines of Good and Evil yeah it's like they're like muddying the waters murking it yeah when I saw Harry Potter prison bask I saw it like four years ago in a theater on his 20th anniversary just to see what it was and I didn't like it because I thought they blurred the lines between good and evil because there's these dark creatures I think dementes what they were called presented as evil when actually they were good or whatever and I couldn't get hardly clearly Define what was good or evil and that's and I just didn't like that as much we just say that's consistent through the story or yeah what's up Josh there are there aren't too many people you would clearly classifies as good because they're portrayed as humans who don't have God leading them they're human they're combination of good and bad they do good and bad things and that is a prevailing theme throughout the entire story Dumbledore who is one of the main forces in defeating the wizard is trying to take over the whole world he did some questionable stuff too like he wasn't I would say he's a bad person but he wasn't all good interesting so it's not like Lord of the Rings where this very clearly Define this is good this is evil and one thing like just to restructure for people that just joined Lord of the Rings the entire what Aaron is saying is the entire structure of Lord of the Rings is built around the structure of Christianity because the writer is Christian so there's a God that creates everything there's the one of his angels who Rebels there's perverting the human race and then God Says angels to help uh build their own things so like when so you're saying that when people aspire to be good in Harry Potter it's just they're good they're bad you're not really sure but when Lord of the Rings when they aspire to be good or evil it's because like let's say the ring and saon are the embodiment of what is wrong it's evil which actually saon is just like the the the chief captain of literally Satan and get is an angel of God Almighty and when you're doing good you're literally fighting for God which versus the Harry Potter is like you don't know whether it's good or evil even Dumbledore which is the equivalent of basically gendal did a bunch of weird things weird things by bad things what what do you mean by that I don't know what those are I haven't seen the movies when I say I won't say weird but like he uh he made sacrifices and made decisions that were very questionable because he and he did it because he was trying to help the world as a whole at the same time he he did things that were like unfortunately I've only seen unfortunately fortunately I've only seen the movies and but I know the books go into more detail but the movies themselves are abbreviated versions of the books as you know from all of the Rings which is the same thing yeah uh so I know the book's go into more detail but like as I said they're just human they humans do stuff they aren't all they aren't all bad they AR are good they're just human as compared to Lord of the Rings the people it's almost not fair comparison because the people in there actually have I say God behind them to help them do the right thing and Harry Potter it's like normal humans who have a ton of power in their hands most of the time they it's not going to end well I see interesting interesting so for people who have never seen let's see uh Le says dumo was very human he did Cal stuff like every other human yeah like I was saying he's a human interesting whereas you know Gandalf is an angel and I think think it's almost not a fair comparison yeah yeah it's interesting very interesting well one of the I'd say one of the main things is that Lord of the Rings is based more on actual viol actual real violence rather than a wand um do they have actually any real fist fighting or anything like that is just all the violence just uh wants in Harry Potter it has been years since I've seen the movie ah I say yeah there's some violence I remember a dragon trying to eat people I don't think he actually did but that happened okay weren't there weren't large scale sword shield Calvary battles yes a lot of the fighting was with wands but the wands made stuff blow up and things so I said there's violence yeah yeah so you're saying more like so Lord of the Rings is the story based on Christianity Harry Potter's a story based on uh just their own ideas it it's just based on just based on humans like it's and humans by ourselves we aren't the best creatures yeah I would say now some people would say that oh well for instance like watching a movie like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter that's a bad thing but hunting and fishing and hiking and playing sports that's totally okay what would you say to that okay you can you can absolutely take those things and they be a problem too like people like brother Brown went with Hunters who would that one Hunter who enjoyed tricking the Doe's into thinking that their baby was in danger so we could shoot them is that Christian like like you you say movies in general are bad because most movies come from Hollywood yes they have a bad they are in general more bad but to say that they're bad the bad as a whole and as for the whole Sports things say sports are good you've been to a game you've been to an Ohio State game like that there's not all good there's beer being thrown around there are people dressed not dressed appropriately it's like that are you kidding yeah I'd say people like let see actually Laura Jones joined her dad brother Jonathan Jones preached this morning at our church and he said that uh someone people say oh brother brandom like people like to take something and say that it's righteousness say no I don't watch Lord of the Rings I don't watch in TV shows I don't do anything except hunting fish and brother brandom liked hunting so I'm spiritual you know basically is what they're saying and someone asked what the BR and they say oh but the brandom likes to go uh hunting because that's when he talks to God and so asked him one time do you have do you see any Visions or one of his hunting Hunting Buddies asked him do you see any Visions when you're hunting he's like no I go hunting to escape all that stuff because you you need an escape every human being has a flesh that enjoys things I like I like tennis twice a week I like Lord of the Rings you know can they be used for evil yeah but I've seen people use uh White waterer rafting uh traveling for a job uh traveling rafting hiking fishing hunting Sports my God sleeping or anything go on to the hospital they can use all these different things to get themselves away from God and what people have is they have their favorite SS like oh well I just like uh Disney movies and a couple Marvel movies I just I've never seen Star Wars it's not worthy of my time it's like what and they've never seen it they don't know let's see amen my dad has preached that our whole lives yeah just have your own preferences yeah you can it can be used against God sure but by itself like the entire this is why like with Star Wars sure there's a few things Harry Potter is sure but like Lord of the Rings the entire story is the structure of it is based on the Bible the ideals are based in the Bible the only thing in Star Wars that I don't like is drinking and smoking and that's it but even then they don't make it where you know someone's drunk out of their mind and they're doing bad things it's more of a a social thing and nothing negative ever comes from in any of the stories and like when like well I go hunting and fishing and that's good because brother Brown did it so obviously he's good like but what if I don't like to hunting fish I don't enjoy that so what am I supposed to do you have your escape and I don't have mine that's BMB deal yeah side note as long as it lines up with the word of God yeah yeah that's exactly right now if you're watching uh I think if you're you can take anything and do bad with it knif I think someone's watching horror movies that's where I draw the line I'm not going to watch a horror movie I I don't I don't know how you can spin a hor movie as being a good recreational activity I don't know about that one do that though they they be Christians or message or whatever like oh no horror movies are totally fine just preferences people have preferences people think that because they like one thing over the other they're more spiritual they're more close to God when really nothing within ourselves makes us any closer to God or any further from God Saves us like it's a it's a balance if your recreational activities aren't blatantly wrong like watching movies you that are clearly not good like if watching movies if you play a sport and you just do it for fun and it's not consuming your time or taking away time from church or something it's fine it's it's fine I know people who enjoy working out and some take it too far and instead of going to church they'll go to the gym and others it's just something they do three or or four days a week in the evening it doesn't take away time from church or their jobs or from fellowship it's just a healthy Pastime and it's fine yeah everybody has an escape she can't let see Laura Jones says if the activity takes the place of your prayer or worship then it's wrong I completely agree it's exactly right and it could be anything that could be from walking hiking fishing movies TV shows the theater uh sleeping anything else like brother Trevor even when he was on he said people have their favorite sins like oh I don't want watch Lord of the Rings are Star Wars but I say that I'm better than someone else or I'm real prideful about it someone someone once said that um The Pride from not doing some from not doing something is often worth than the doing of the something like oh no no I don't ever eat desserts or I don't ever eat brighted Foods or oh gosh people in their healthy needs I don't ever drink diet soda and it's almost like a religion for them yeah the people who are elitist about their Niche Hobbies yeah exactly or their cars like whether Bob Palmer's car yeah well they work they you can put your work above God where you're just working all the time but everybody has I will say go ahead sorry that that's not a particular problem for me but yeah I don't I I wouldn't quite do that but some people do but I me I've always said that I won't work Sundays or Wednesday nights every job I've ever had by God's Christ only they only made an exception when it was Black Friday with phone sales whatever but no I I won't not consistently anyway I won't do it but yeah people people want to have their preferences and say it's righteousness it's not it's preference no one is more holy in someone else based on what they do or do not do and really we shouldn't be focusing so much on what other people do we should be focusing on ourselves because there's only brother said there's anything we could do to Merit anything in the presence of God then Christ died in vain no lawkeeper no legalistic ideas of yours nothing you could quit doing no amount of not going the picture shows not stealing not smoking cigarettes not drinking there's nothing you can do to make yourself any more whole in the presence of God you are a sinner to begin there's not there's none holy no not one yeah now if you are you know you say you're saved whatever and then you're spending all your time on these things and you just go to church Wednesday Sunday and of course there's something wrong you do to have a relationship with God but this is not something where we're supposed to be spending you know 99% of our time listening to a tape that can that is something sure but we have our work we have our family we have our hobbies and every now and then you need a break and um it's a relationship with God not a dictatorship not martial law and it's not it's not the quantity but the quality if you're just if you're just fores shoving hours and hours listening to tape messages and things but you're not really getting anything from it then what's the point let's see uh someone asks Annie Thompson asks so which do you like better Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter Lord of the Rings next question yeah Lord of the Rings by far bar now no no it's the best by far a close second is maybe The Hobbit or actually that's a good thing what's up Jerry bology see uh Lord Jones says also because person focusing on what others doing can be considered that activity that is taking place of yourip yeah if you're spending all your time thinking go I know this person and that person and that person they're just not doing it right like bro stop it it's not we should be focusing on um but I can I can actually ask a question on this um let's see would like better Harry Potter Lord of the Rings have you ever seen um or like The Hobbit movies now what do you what do you think of the H Justice goes Lord of the Rings or where would you put those exactly uh I wouldn't to begin with I immediately wouldn't say they're as wellmade as Lord of the Ring Lord of the Rings from a directing ass set standpoint they're not as good as for like being based on uh like how re is based the entire background and framework is based on uh Christianity that's much less pronounced in The Hobbit because the original Hobbit book The Source material it was made for children and it like The Hobbit movies aren't for children but it's still kind of it's still kind of permeates through it you can I don't get as much the feeling uh for more the Rings as I do from The Hobbit of what the back of how the background is based on Christianity The Hobbit feels much feels like has much more of just uh the human element in it as opposed to Lord the Rings yeah yeah I would agree also um there's a tremendous amount of uh stuff added to it that weren't in the books at all I've read The Hobbit several times and there's a like legless torial uh all the weird jokes a lot of the stuff was not in the books at all if they actually used the actual book of The Hobbit and you just use that for the whole movie of The Hobbits it would be tremendously better than it would actually be based on the Trish Christian and all these different things but they went wrong when they made it all uh strange and film it the way they did were those for people who aren't aware the Lord of the Rings movies the three of them are based on three 400 page books The Hobbit which is the same movie length as Lord the Rings it's based on one 300 Page book yeah so you can imagine there's a lot more fluff in The Hobbit exactly now I still enjoyed the Hobbit I liked parts of it but it was the first time when it came from something from uh you know their work that I was just like wait I didn't like that joke that was a weird dirty joke I didn't like this some dumb stupid joke now I I I would even say though that the worst the most dirty thing in The Hobbit is still cleaner than the cleanest thing in modern movies I would say that but you know they added some stuff I didn't really enjoy Also the action was more magical and not like Lord of the Rings yeah that was Ming like there's this one specific moment where legalist is jumping up debris as falling okay okay relax relax you need to stop you need to tone it down yes exactly what about Percy Jackson we can go to that quick and come back have you seen Percy Jackson I have not I think I've seen one of them I thought it was pretty cool I've seen both it's like we're talking about the movies it's there is not much of a conversation because the movies deviate and compress the books so much it's it's technically the same thing but not really it's not no all here question and you don't have to answer this directly it will have to be answered indirectly just in a different way than yes or no but from Addison Wallen is Harry Potter bad to watch now here's the thing though this is the whole point of my entire Channel Addison Wallen what do you mean by bad to watch because I don't know what that means bad to what does it even mean because your definition of bad my definition of bad I don't know what those things mean here I can ask it this way is Harry Potter worth watching oh if you watch it once through it's fine should you watch it over and over probably not look and I have no authority to say yes or no I personally would not watch it over and over if you do it that you have your own walk with God you that's between you and him if it if you think it's fine that's between you and him I don't know that's that's that's the perfect answer I think I mean it's really between people and God I me I I will say Harry Potter is not blatantly bad enough to where you can clearly say you should never watch it ever that's good I I'd say I i' probably say I agree the uh I've never seen him but I'd say probably since the story I've heard the story is very on point I know the music is very good I gu say sure maybe they're worth watching once but like Lord of the Rings as far as movies they're very well-made movies the acting the music the action is well done it is if we get if we get our the conducive to your Christian walk that's a whole another conversation I I say you're right I say it wouldn't be something I'd watch over over and over again now Lord of the Rings how many times would you say you've seen Lord of the Rings so here's the thing I have not seen the movies or the rings that much but I've read the book six times six times six times what's that over a 100 hours of audiobook content over a 100 maybe maybe but I'm a f reader six times bro that's like what 36 34 page books a 300 page book uh a couple 700 page that's a bunch of books wow yeah and they're all very clean they're written in the 1930s I mean come on yeah I like them I have no agret about it if I didn't know the books so well I'd probably do it again but my copy falling apart and I haven't gotten a new one yeah that's good I mean I uh have to listen to all of them I've listen to a bunch of them I like listening to the compar the uh like nerd of the Rings or something like that on YouTube talking about like Baron Luth and stories and stuff like that it's all really good they need to make movies about the fall of morg goth that would be awesome that would be a movie about the simarillion oh man I would say it'd be a fine line because it'd be hard to capture a lot of the it it'd be hard to capture a lot of the Wonder that the books held because movies don't compare to your imagination and Jay and tolken knew how to lead your imagination along and to every single wonder mystical place whatever I personally probably would never watch them once I don't know I'm not sure but like Lord of the Ring what makes it valuable is I've probably seen them each over a 100 times throughout my life now keep in mind when my sister when I had problems in my family when I was 11 years old and my family was doing stuff in the living room and Thomas Ruth and I were sent to the den to stay there for days on end just eat some food stay in there while we deal with stuff in the living room um we watched it on repeat in a VCR player just the volume controls and the volum and the power button worked and we watch it let it play through the all through all of the credits rewind and watch it again so I've probably seen the fellowship over 100 or 200 times two towers maybe 50 100 times each and what makes them so good is that you can watch them over and over and over and over and over again and still enjoy them just as much as you did the first time you watching them I don't even remember the first time I watched them by the way I don't but they're they're still excellent like the extended editions like the regular editions like 3 hours three and half hours each then the extended are like four four and a half and they're still my opinion you should only watch the extended I wouldn't also have you seen the they also have like uh a bunch of unreleased content too they're thinking for the 50th Anniversary or the 30th anniversary of of releasing even more content you know making like five hour movies or something wow I still need to get one of my sisters to watch it she's in the comments you know who you are I didn't know this your sister very cool that's great yeah Lord of the Rings they're very good there're a uh so we all have preferences and things that we like or don't like and I'd say that lord of rings is a good use of your time sure it's a good story clean it won't R your soul if it's the worst mational activity I'd say it's one for people who enjoy stories like that it's definitely one of the better ones absolutely it's an Narnia I've never seen arnia it's good you should read the the books they are geared toward a bit of a younger audience and Lord of the Rings but at the same time they're like they're still very good if you think Lord of the Rings is uh based on uh Christianity it Narnia crushes it it is so much more obvious actually her VCR player oh man what's up very good stuff so what about uh we can bring this into the conversation have you ever seen Star Wars yes all of them some of them I regret watching not because they're tily bad because they were just really badly made movies yeah so let's see so hey hey Anna what's up so not including the absolute garbage heap of uh the rise of Skywalker Last Jedi and the force awakens the absolute trash that they made not those movies but the first six what's your opinion first compared to Lord of the Rings Harry Potter the actually I need to complete my thought on The Hobbit then we'll go to uh the uh Star Wars question so like when it come I never answered that one when it comes for me for The Hobbit It's one step below Lord of the Rings and one step below The Hobbit is Star Wars so The Hobbit Lord of the Rings is Flawless in my opinion there's really nothing you can put put into it The Hobbit you can there are some dumb jokes and some dumb things in that that just aren't necessary also the extended editions are R because they made them un unnecessarily gory I still haven't seen the extended editions of The Hobbit because it's just weird but we'll be to um but they're one step below now are they cleaner than Star Wars yeah but like Star Wars in my opinion is uh it's a was like maybe two cuss wordss in six in like nine movies and a couple people not dressed properly but that's basically it but um go ahead what do you what do you think like Star Wars the first six movies not the absolute trash that Disney has made in the forms of why why can't they make movies like they make TV shows like what's the deal but what's your take on Star Wars I'd say uh as compared to Bings in The Hobbit I'm kind of similar to you they aren't as good but they're fine like they're fine it's whatever if you watch them uh so some of my favorite cinematic moments I've ever watched are in Star Wars like the third one that final fight the music the emotions in terms of being wellmade that is Peak that is so well done yep I'd say like as far as like the fandom and all of the lore and the things that I enjoy outside Lord of the Rings I'd say Enjoy immensely more or just as much the Star Wars things it's just so vast and yeah Revenge of the Sith greatest film ever made one of the greatest anyway longest longest sword fight in a movie ever by the way is Revenge of the Sith and it didn't feel overdone did it no it was just awesome it was just awesome yeah as for the lore you C you you probably could never actually catch up on the lore of Star Wars because there are it's another thing like for Harry Potter versus or the Rings um some completely Le leing whether or not it's right or wrong people who are fans of Harry Potter like to put downlo the Rings fans because like well our books are so much longer so much more content and then Star Wars here like kids we can fill up rooms with our lore what do you got well I mean if if uh jaro can give the rights of of writing to uh like open kind of like Star Wars is and I'm sure there'd be a lot more a lot more content but same time it wouldn't be the same because token was so overwhelmingly exhaustively thorough in his lore and World building yeah he was was all really good they're all very clean things and people have different preferences it's not it's not a moral Authority or a righteousness fact based on what you do or do not watch everyone has their preferences like Lord of the Rings Star Wars is also really good um there some stuff to ignore in Star Wars yeah sure whatever now this I like making this making this point to people they usually don't like it is oh well Leia or pad me they're not well dressed like oh well you go to Walmart do you uh stop going to Walmart because there's bad magazines when you dress when you check out no you ignore it and you buy your food such a small percentage of it and so and when they say well but why are you even watching it like the activity itself is like because I don't enjoy hunting and fishing and things like that again what what are you supposed to do it's just not it's not fair it's not fair to say I do that because brother banam did it no you probably do it because you enjoy it yeah that's right that's right let's see oh boy what do you think of the uh have you seen the new Lord of the Ring series by Amazon go the things of power you have not seen it it's worth watching sure but it's pretty trash honestly like I didn't have high hopes that they would do well with it have done so much better I hope they do better this season 2 but it was there are parts of it that were I that I loved that gave me the same Lord of the Rings feeling like this whole like separate story Lines within it one of the story lines is just amazing other ones are just really weird let's see my sister Anna says uh I've never seen Harry Potter but Jake ring has an inspiring life story oh sweet very cool didn't know that very nice yeah R power series is very strange it's cool it's worth watching once but I haven't watched it in more than once I haven't yeah good well I'm new to this where you want to go next okay let's see uh I do have a favorite uh TV show within the uh within the Star Wars franchise you got the Clone Wars you got the my personal favorite like TV show Mandalorian within the Star Wars franchise I guess I haven't seen a SOA so this exists outside of that I have not seen it so I cannot judge it I've heard it's really really good but I haven't seen it as my personal favorite it is Clone Wars yeah yeah me too the whole story line with like Darth Maul all those guys that was that was awesome they have so many good ones and like like um mortis you remember that one yes I do yeah like where did that come from it's like all of a sudden like we're just going to drop one of the best miniseries in the whole TV show you will ever see like I think it's almost like uh the Peter not Peter uh what yes Peter who's the guy who directed it Peter Jackson Peter Jackson uh he said we really started hitting our stride in season 3 I'm like yeah you did you you hit you hit that stride with the with saage Opress that story and then Morse those were the first two I'm like oh this series is getting really good it was really neat yeah what would you say is your favorite genre I cannot answer that because I have like my favorite story is Lord of the Rings but if someone took the idea of Lord of the Rings and did in sci-fi then my favorite story would be the Sci-Fi Lord of the Rings like if Lord of the Rings didn't exist as a fantasy but existed as a Sci-Fi story then that would be my favorite now like I like fantasy I like high fantasy low fantasy I like sci-fi I like realistic stories I like Slice of Life I do not have a overall favorite chra interesting yeah I I'm pretty much the same way um Lord of the Rings is very good who's your uh about this who is your favorite character Lord of the Rings Lord of the Rings yeah ginley really specifically because of the movie's portrayal of him why why yeah why gim uh he reminds me of me and his jokes and stuff interesting like when legist takes down this whole stinking Beast of a mammal the olant is this huge powerful thing he takes it down and G like that's still counts as one yeah I love it I love it anybody has seen L of the Rings in the comments put your favorite character to Anna likes Arwin Arwin is also a great character my favorite character is barir I cry every single time I watch him die like it's Sean Bean it's it's Shan Bean it's not a spoiler I mean come on what else do you expect but yeah it's my he's my favorite character like I like all of them for different reasons I can make a case for any of them but okay if we're talking about the books I have two favorite characters depending on movies of the books if talking about the books it's Sam wise interesting what is the difference between the books why uh the books do you choose Sam wise and not gimy versus like Lord of the rngs Sam wi and gimy because gimly in the books is very different from gimy in the movies how how different um there a lot more noble the books like he he's not nearly as boisterous or he doesn't have as much of the humor as in the mo in the books as he does in the movies I'm not saying he's worse it's just it's a different spin on the character but in the books uh Lord the Rings has the distinction of being I think the it is like one of two books besides like the Bible or things that has ever made me cry really yes which part did you cry in in in the books uh where Sam is holding Frodo and he's saying don't go where I can't follow a it's really sweet do you not cry a lot or what's what's your crying like when it comes to emotions or whatever when it comes to pieces of Cinema I'm unfortunately too cynical and that for the most part I know that this isn't real and they're just acting so it's a lot harder for me to get into it as much but sometimes they really just nail it uh sad note my family knows this but do you know what one of the other movies that like the ending of Lord the Rings made me cry and there's one other movie that almost made me cry you want to know who it is you'll never guess it Charlotte SW K Fu Panda 2 have you ever seen it I I have yeah why did that make you cry do you remember the uh so in kampu Panda 2 there's the par where po the main character is having his flashback of his childhood which he had forgotten to this point and in it his village was attacked and you see like the village burning and his mother picks him up and is running and his father has to fight off the attackers he tells him take our son and run away and you and the camera just panss away and you and his mother never sees the he never sees him again and the music is very good you see like her running and the Wolves chasing her and and then the music slows down Camera Pants out and she puts him into this produce uh basket that's going to be delivered to a village next day like the violins in the background are going softly and she's trying to she's like shaking she's terrified she's trying to get him to quiet down and he's crying and so she like leans in try to calm down and he grabs her hand rubs it against his face and it's like you can tell he just he doesn't want her to leave and you can see her crying and then she just squeezes his hand quickly and then runs away and the screen starts to fade as you see his hands outstretch from his perspective and you see the Wolves chasing her down and the screen Fades to black as you hear you hear him crying that's really sad you watched it did you not remember this that happens Panda that happens I haven't seen it comedy show why I haven't seen it in over five years I don't remember last time I think maybe I watched it around when it came out maybe like eight years ago or something but that sounds that sounds like something I crying that sounds really sad yeah it was very sad I'm like where did this come from this is kungu Panda yeah it's kind of strange when they uh out of nowhere they got all all like that it's really sad let's see Anna says uh Kung Panda to made me cry too interesting probably would make me cry I mean just about anything makes me cry I'll cry at the trailer fireproof I mean I cry every time I see borrow me or a die I I I I I tear up a lot but Tru that sounds really sad honestly one this times we're gonna have to get uh Nath Nathan ericon people are saying preacher Ericson would love this so one of these times we'll have to uh have he what is he a l of the Rings fan or what and in his own words he used to be a total sweat about Lord the Rings he used to know all the lore really he doesn't as much but yes he's a fan he's a fan interesting we're gonna have to bring him on they we have to you know what let me uh let me message him and see if he uh off try off to try to uh get him on one of these times maybe I'm not sure CH it's all really good it's really sad okay so Kung Fu Panda someone said they some of the greatest movies ever made there's like a YouTube video about it what do you think Kung Fu Panda is like incredibly made or or what I think they are pretty well made um if you don't like their style of humor you know that's a preference as for emotions the third movie kind of left it a bit but the first and second movie they actually had some very M surprisingly mature moments for K Fu Panda because you don't expect it but like I just describe what happened in the second movie and there are other moments and the first one the first K Fu Panda kind of expanded my perspective on human nature nature of it because I saw it when I was really when I was young and there's a moment where the main villain is fighting his mentor because of reasons and the music is very intense and he's saying you hear him screaming as he's beating his mentor like to Ault all I ever did I did to make you proud and he's screaming tell me how proud you are yeah that's an intense thing I'm like what yeah yeah I feel like they put some of that stuff in there for adults so like even the kids are watching and the adults can still enjoy it um let's see here okay here's a good question what about anime have you seen any anime yes I'm a massive one piece Fan One Piece I've never seen it what's it about like I just asked you what's algebra what's algebra about like you know there's over a thousand episodes of One Piece just thousand the show's been going since 1999 how do they do that a thousand really because it is I don't know it was this year last year but recently there there was a poll about most popular TV characters and there were like three from other TV shows and then there's luy the main character of One Piece just as as a whole against Game of Thrones and all these other Big Time tv shows Luffy is right up there with them one piece is very popular see my sister says Anna says Hunter X is a must see interesting I haven't seen Hunter I've heard very good things about it as for what one piece is about I'm sorry man I don't know what to tell you that is such a that is such a question how do how you tell me how I'm supposed to cond D down over a thousand episodes yeah I Googled it and saw I don't someone says the series focuses on monkey deffy a young man made of rubber after unintentionally eating a devil fruit who sets off in a journey from the East po SE to find the deceased King of the Pirates uh go D Rogers ultimate treasure known as the one piece and take over his prior title yeah I don't think you can spend it either I like there are some seeds like in Star Wars there's some seeds you have to spit out but uh the okay here's a good question people make this argument they say oh well you told me I was eating a brownie and there's just a little bit of dirt in it I wouldn't eat it at all if it's even 1.1% bad you shouldn't even watch it at all what would you say to that okay like don't go to Walmart that's what I say don't don't use Amazon don't go to Walmart don't trust these Banks because they're probably doing dubious practices you probably shouldn't buy your car from this car L because they also probably cheat people to one point um you really shouldn't get gas from gas stations because they're also trying to cheat people there's no point in that argument you're going to run and you're going to have to spit out some stuff just to exist in this world and again we get back to the recreation like well you're doing that as a recreation that's not necessary for Life yes it is yes relaxing and unwinding is absolutely a necessity for life and again I don't like hunting and fishing so what am I supposed to do yeah sorry H I get very I get very annoyed with people like that me too very very immensely very few things bother me more than people like that the things what about Avatar the Last air bender I've never seen it um I like it I actually think that's a step above Star Wars and a step below G the Rings really how now is it better than Star Wars I've never seen this I don't know um like when I say the people in human are human in that show is different from Harry Potter because like like do you remember the story William brandham when he was in a bar and he was asking God why don't you just burn this place to the ground and then he had the whole Vision about his sins and then he went up to one of the women in there who was dressed really in inappropriately and he said to hear her story is one of the most heartbreaking stories you've ever heard so a lot of the villains and Avatar they're evil they are and they do bad things and they have to be punished but their stories are like that's just sad yeah I I wish I could have helped them I like when they they give context to why characters the way they are and if they're just evil evil with this context you know like uh I haven't seen very much anime the one that I saw of course there's a couple things to ignore but I I like the story uh villain Saga I if you seen that one I haven't seen it again I've heard things about it I detest the second season because they because they went all lovey-dovey violence is evil like be a pacifist after the first season was is pure pure violence the whole time now the story is also incredibly compelling uh and it's just like there's there's a lot of violence though which like oh you just like violence like no I like good versus Evo like you think David didn't like fighting the Philistines like bro come on but the story's very good but like in the second season they try to go all uh you know lovey doy kind of on it and but uh the story it's really really good I have to I'll have to have you watch like my brother showed me like episode six of the first season and I was like bro I have to watch this it was it's very clean there's a couple things just like anything else but I enjoyed it it was it was good and they even actually like in the second season they bring like the whole Crescendo is they bring in like you got to have peace and they literally quote the Bible the King James version of the Bible in the second season now I don't agree with the way they took it but it was still good and the story was the story was pretty neat but it was very uh basic premise of the story is that there's a kid who has a father who is a very famous Warrior and he uh he dies and uh he he dies and his son he dies because a a pirate and a group of pirates and their main guy named ascad kills him and uh his son Thorin um was there and Thorin wants to kill the guy that killed his uh dad and he gets better and better at fighting and just that's a very kind of butchering it but it's very uh very good story let's see Annie Thompson favorite movies not including the ones you've been talking about uh favorite movies not including the ones we been talking about actually by the way guys anybody that's watching this thinking oh they're just on there talking about movies there's a big difference between bad movies and good movies they're not all terrible as a whole there's a big difference between bad hunting and good hunting bad hiking and good hiking bad traveling and good traveling bad uh I don't know fishing and good fishing there's a big difference everything we've talked about about this are like some of the cleanest things ever made so uhle brother brandom actually had to pray to God because of a hunter who was just being so calloused against animals and how he was treating them there you go so like that wasn't good hunting yeah but was good hunting with a gun that he wanted to use a gun to kill some kids but got to keep him from that Sor but uh favorite movies that of the ones we've been talking about I'm thinking um in terms of like wellmade well produced movies uh I say some some of the Avenger ones from Marvel like those are well made well done some of those sto some of those stories are pretty good like the one the first Captain America yeah it's kind it's kind of PR like they made a to make a cliche but there's a very clear distinct line between good guys and bad guys like the bad guys in that they're just bad it bad and they don't pretend to be good yeah let's see I also uh Rogue one is also very good what Rogue one is also very good yeah like that I'm surprised at how good that was considering the um horrible like that's as a job that sounds like one of the worst jobs that would have ever existed I I don't know how they managed to make that movie as cohesive as it was yeah favorite movies uh like there are some anime movies I like from my hero Academia or one piece again but I can't really explain why because I have to explain the story one piece and as we've just gone over that is a that is a whole day discussion interesting yeah uh I have to say there's a couple things to ignore of course but all know it's pretty clean movie uh tenant I really enjoy tenant if you haven't seen it it's a Christopher Nolan movie and it is uh I'll put it this way when I first saw it I went back and I watched it again on the exact same day with Lyal Carlin it's very complicated but it's like an inversion of time and like time time timelines clashing and it's very confusing but it's I really enjoy it it was christop classic Christopher Nolan stuff yeah exactly makes it pretty cool like Christopher Nolan one of his movies that I really like is I think it's called Inception yeah that one like the climax of that movie that's one of the best climaxes to story I have ever seen very that was awesome see have you seen 1917 no it's very good it's a World War I movie it's it's very it's very good uh Midway my dad so my grandpa on both sides were fought in World War II my grandpa my mom's side uh was a cook in the Navy my grandpa my dad's side was a member of a uh special a uh a unit that got captured by Germans and then it was rescued a week later his entire unit got destroyed except for for him and um they uh you know my my grandpa told my dad that when Pearl Harbor happened and it's towards it happening at Midway planes filled the guy to go to go fight Japan literally planes filled the guy so I took my dad to watch Midway when it came out for his 60th birthday and um when you wouldn't watch it they gave you a little pin little Midway pin and I had watched it before I took him so I watched the second time with him and I gave him that pin after the movie he was crying a lot of the way through we cry when I gave it to him it was really neat that movie there of course there's here's the thing people that like hiking ignore the dirty magazines people that like fishing ignore the girls in bikinis on boats people that like hunting ignore the girls in bikinis and the magazines why because they like hunting and they ignore the bad parts people that like whitewater rafting ignore the half-dressed girls and just focus on whitewater rafting you know they like it people have their own favorite things and I would say that there's nothing in this world that you can do hardly without having to ignore something bad about it so like mid yeah that's a couple cuss words because they're literally fighting for their lives and if they don't succeed like I don't like curing but I'd say when it's within the context of saving the planet um then it's not as bad as something where it's just like completely unnecessary if you know what I mean mhm but that movie Midway have you seen Midway no unfortunately very good one of my favorite genre of movies are are movies that about real events and real stories can you still hear me okay oh yeah I'm just grabbing a drink I'm in a fridge in here so like uh seen the movie Everest I have not so it there are probably several movies by the by that title but the one I'm talking about is about an expedition where two-thirds of the people died on an expedition and the bench leading up to an afterward and like as far as movies go it's it's like it's a pretty clean movie like they're hacking up a mountain and like there's death and stuff but you know if if people are starting to take offense at like death uh you we can look back to the Bible look go back to the Book of Joshua and they destroyed every soul in this city and they destroyed every soul in this city and in this city yeah but like movies like that another one called um 17 it's about a group of miners that were trapped in M yeah I also like that one uh I do not remember the name but it's a movie about an oil rig that blew up again it's based on Dr events and I like it like as far as movie go I think it's pretty clean is there some cussing yes but so so is the street so is your neighbor so is your job the the platform these people were standing on was actually blowing up so I'll let that slide I I won't hold that against some particular like I see where you're coming from I do I do see what you're saying definitely um what's up Sarah graer welcome to the live let's see um see another really good one let's see here I like the last Dan it's a documentary series about Michael Jordan winning a bunch of Michael Jordan basically I enjoyed that do do you enjoy sports or you not a sports person I I enjoy playing some sports as for actually watching them and stuff I'm not really into that scene as much but like I used to play Ultimate Frisbee a lot uh I could have been a like a quarterback or something in football but just not apparently I'm good at throwing a football I I I I embarrassed myself once with it because I hadn't thrown a football in a couple years and there's some guys from the church who were just toss me back and forth like here throw it to me it's like okay but I'm not very good and then I threw it and I threw it so perfectly and he's like yeah man you're just messing with me it's like wasn't but I can't really say that now because now I look like a like I was lying your question yeah I do enjoy it I enjoy sports I enjoy working out I enjoy running we're going to have to play some ping pong next time I'm there like literally the I I will say you know at the Ohio camp yeah uh my team and doubles won the pingpong tournament nice good job G get you on my team next time I don't think we'll lose who was your uh teammate Jimmy do you know yeah I saw you guys play uh he's he's also very good I the day before um I went to uh that camp twt I got everything I needed for my ping paddle except for the forehand riber so I wasn't able to bring it unfortunately Friday it all arrived unfortunately because it's a $200 paddle and it's awesome it's it's made for it's like a $90 uh racket made for control like $50 rubber pieces so it's made for control completely because I go wham and I love it it's it's it's to get my title yeah actually I can grab mine this is this is the mobile phone also the uh what's it called the on one of my lives actually I have tell you which one um I played ping pong with Thomas during the live um I'll tell you which one you can a little bit be playing maybe so your padd gra mine here's our table I'm so jealous I would love to have room for a table but I don't my my dad bought it it's like the only one of the only things he's ever bought for himself in his entire life and he uses it for us all the time it's super cool let's see so got butterfly thing super light carbon fiber lot of fun does it have different sides or is it the same they're both made for a lot of forgiveness and stuff like that and and um you know just absolutely just destroy it I love I love ping pong it's awesome here's my but it's made for Spin and speed interesting is it uh two different rubbers or no it is the same on both sides I unfortunately do not play enough and I'm not good enough to be able to take advantage of having two different sides interesting well do you uh guess you play a shake hand style right just the regular Shake hand or do I play what um same style that I do you hold the B you hold like P almost yeah I I B it like this yeah very cool so is that white and black you ever colored for the case or I mean for the pad oh it's black and red okay sorry I saw the okay mind yeah now what what we originally talking about like you said ping pong and I got really excited talking talking about uh sport Sports sport yeah we asking about sports you're talking about how you throw football quarterback no I said I could have if I like if I had been in if I had been like gone to a high school or something interest that's awesome what stopped you I didn't go go high school I was home schooled and like the like the kids around my block they played football basketball stuff but they're not the type of kids I should have associated with I agree super cool yeah I was uh my dad was preaching this from a while back and I said the the uh actually ask you what keeps you from having worldly friends from what what keeps you from having a bunch of worldly friends the influence like we don't do the same stuff like even if we do the same stuff like say play the same video game or something our perspectives are so different that it we end up just not really connecting anymore let's see yeah that makes a ton of sense I also said that uh go ahead sorry keep going like over coid uh we couldn't have have in-person church services and uh the job I had that time wouldn't let me go to any weekend or weekday Services any way I do left the job but so I wasn't really getting a lot of Fellowship from anyone because of Co and that so I I did have a few friends out in the world I talk to over Discord and they helped me through some very very hard times like we have kind of Grown Apart but if I'll say if you have a friend in the world and they have always been there with you brother br talk about this if they do not try to stop you from believing the message if they do not judge you for it if they let you live your life let them live their and go on and like let God take care of the rest if you're not meant to be if you're not meant to be friends anymore God will take care of you that's right yeah one thing I'd say too is you have to sometimes with friends you have to uh abandon an entire part of your identity to be popular among them and every if you want to be real popular with them you can just Abend in everything you ever taught and uh depends on the friend of course some of them are very good friends some of the people I with like they support a gay marriage and I told them I didn't it and they're like that's okay I'm not going to try and make you believe what I believe and we just moved on from there cool that makes sense good stuff good stuff some people are strange but hey that's that's always good to have um you have any uh what tapes would you recommend people to listen to some of your faes let's say here's the thing I'm really bad with names like I will I can remember tapes I remember parts of the tape that I just really really liked but I don't remember what the name was like I had a Sunday school teacher for six months before I remembered his name really I am I am bad with names it's a thing interest what was the tape about maybe I can find it let's see uh one that I enjoyed was he was it was probably something about not being ashamed in the title or something it was talking about uh ashamed Jefferson Lana it's just one just called ashamed I need to actually look at it because you know how sometimes was you have a service and you're like that service was amazing and someone immed asked you what what exactly did you say uh yeah yeah I agree something happens to your brain it's talk about not being ashamed and that you need I don't I don't remember specifics on the top of my head if I looked at it again I'd be like right yes that was awesome cool that's fine hey going to say it's inherently bad to watch them should you should you watch them should you watch or do anything to the point where it takes away from your walk with God no obviously not because people can take Lord of the Rings too far yeah they people can take listening to messages too far because they'll use it and they'll talk how often do you listen to messages uh well I listen to it six hours
