get on this thing finally worked I don't know what it is but yeah okay at least we're here now yeah man you got I got like a bunch of hair you almost almost no hair in your head I'm just this is actually too much hair for me this is a little too much interesting yeah it's kind of crazy so we finally got it to work so yes how is Mike penguin is it penguin is your last name actually penguin or what no what it's yeah but people like people growing up when I they couldn't say it so they just call me penguin so I just kind of adapted that fair enough fair enough okay well you finally got here um I guess you go ahead and pray and then we'll get right into stuff I'll ask you who you are people know who you are and then after you pray so go ahead and Pray Again all right spray bar heads dear father Lord thank you for finally allowing us to get a connection Lord and just be here Lord just let our conversation be edifying uh full of good things to say Lord things that will help people things that'll you know just to have a good time and you and and be holy in all that we do or forgive us of all things pray that you'll be with us in all things Lord Your Personal Jesus Christ I pray amen amen amen very cool epicenter appearance says it's too much it's too much like this is I feel like I'm backsliding you know maybe it's too long oh God Eli your background through the light yeah first perfect yeah it's the perfect contrast exactly okay so who is the uh the bald man of things Safa sent him in her hair no one one tenth of a centimeter's hair is too much who is Mike or God you can just say who is Mike penguin yeah that works uh I am I'm just a guy I um I'm a Psychology major um graduated high school I've been to public school all my life I I went to a Christian private school for one year um I'm a song leader and a Sunday school teacher at my church so just I'm just a guy interesting so Psychology major my dad was a Psychology major as well so what's what's the experience of psychology like exactly what what is that um what do you mean the experience um actually you know what that's that's an interesting way because I could segue into our uh into our conversation how so the first question we've got guys is how do we talk people about what we believe and um you're in college is that an in-person college or yeah in person uh I prefer to take online classes but this semester I have one in person class I remember my first two semesters it was all in person but I I just ever since like coveted and all that I've kind of adjusted more to online Mike are you currently taking girlfriend applications uh no comment I'll just say no I'll keep the people guessing [Laughter] so some in person what's it what's it like in person those of us who have only ever been homeschooled oh man well okay well the thing about in person class is that like there's people there right and uh you get to talk to them kind of crazy yeah how does that even work I know it's it's really rough but but uh yeah you know it's it is what it is it's not nothing it's not that crazy you just you just you it's it's I feel like being homeschooled is a Better Learning environment although being Public Schools is a better social environment if you if you're the right people though like there's a lot of I mean of course we know us as people in the faith there's a lot of things that are taught in schools that we don't agree with that go against you know what the Bible says and all those things but there's a lot more socialization and you know I I made it through so socialization so like how did you like for guide is a bit different you know because we just put a pair of pants on and just be that way and really it comes out more it's not as instant as a girl like oh she's in a skirt but a guy it's more in like the uh the ways we act the ways we talk the way we everything um what how did you talk about people to people about how what you believed man it's like when you even though you say like it's it's when girls with skirts and all that but even as a guy like even the way even though you you don't it's not as obvious as wearing a skirt but even the way you dress and the way you talk and act people will notice it like so you don't even have to say anything but like I remember I worked for a move-in company and I work in Georgia and it's like 90 degrees outside and people start to notice that like I never wear shorts like no matter how hot it gets no matter how mug it is no matter what the weather is I'm never wearing shorts and they start they start to notice that and they're like what is why is Mike never wear shorts and they start to realize that I don't listen to music music listen to it because I don't touch they realize I don't you know I don't do certain things I don't drink I don't a lot of people a lot of the guys smoked on the job I never smoked so they noticed all these things and they start to wonder like like they can tell you're different even though you're not wearing a skirt like the sisters are but they can tell they can definitely tell you're different and I could that was that was one of my first uh that was actually how I felt like the evidence of my experience and my new birth experience was that well I remember uh I think it was like ninth or ninth grade where like I was like everyone else and then one tenth grade came along I was just so different like I I felt like an alien because like everything I believed and did and acted it was so different than it was the previous year so let me that was one of the evidences that I really hadn't experienced was that I felt like an alien at school when I didn't before and just everything that that other people do that I used to do I just didn't do anymore interesting so okay um let's see so like with with interesting girls what was what was that like combating because bro you're you you're tall you're in great shape you're Immaculate a basketball um girls love that so and also it's not just that it's also you know here's this guy good looking at everything else and also cleaner than any guy they probably ever met in their entire lives pretty close to it anyway you know the worse the message produces you and me is better than the best the world producers so uh what was that like for you um you know you know there's always there's always attention from uh unsavory places let's say and especially being an athlete in high school there's always going to be that type of attention but honestly if you have you know the briefs that I'm blushing right now how can you tell Bree I mean but um yeah though there's always the tension and and you really the the key is you know remember who you are and I think I think certainly even certain yeah like Lion King I love when preachers will say that because it's like I remember being in school and being in those uh those in environments where it's like I'm the only one in this entire school who believes what I believe and and just to remember who like even when you get attention from girls or attention from you know all these different places and people are thinking oh he's an athlete oh he's this oh he's that but one thing I I knew immediately from when I got the new birth was that I'm a Christian first like before I'm an athlete I'm a Christian before I'm tall I'm a Christian before I'm a student I'm a Christian before uh before whatever whatever the label is before I'm black before I'm African before I have brown eyes before you know I drive a car before whatever the label is on me before any of that I'm a Christian so you know and I've actually heard I've heard many people ask me like how do I because I would let people know that I practice abstinence I don't believe in uh sex before marriage and honestly if if you're a guy getting a ticket from worldly girls just tell them you believe in abstinence and they'll probably go away they want to go away yeah because they it's so normalized that like oh you have sex at like 16 and 17 whenever you know and people are always trying to get together and hook up culture and all that and just tell people you practice abstinence and usually the girls just go away like it's really that easy for like 99 of the girls you just say oh I don't believe in sexual marriage and those are like oh and they'll walk away do you ever have any of that like Still Still proceed you after that yeah actually yes there was one they just it was weird though because they kind of just lied to me like they were like oh yeah me too and then I was like oh no what do I do because I it was like usually you say I believe in abstinence if they just walk away and then there was one who just like oh yeah me too and I was like what like how do I shake her off you know I just like it it eventually just became apparent to uh to her that we were not compatible in our beliefs and and uh and all those things and later on I found out that she done a bunch of stuff and didn't believe anything and she was just lying to me the whole time so I don't know what I guess her plan was to pretend like she believed what I believe and then convinced me to break that and then I don't know what her plan was but yeah and uh honestly just just be who you are like don't hide anything talk about your faith talk about what you believe and eventually like the people who don't really believe that are going to fall away they're going to realize that you're not compatible they're going to realize that they don't believe what you believe and that's gonna that's gonna create the separation right there you know and honestly it's I mean it's just not going to be compatible like if you see a girl with wearing leggings and wearing this and midriff and crop top and all that and you're addressing modestly and you're you know praying before you eat and you're talking about God and those things it's just it's gonna repel them if they're not of the scene if not of the word you know they don't have an experience it's gonna repel them so honestly if you're getting attention from uh unbelievers and you don't want to be unequally yoked just talk about the word honestly talk about the Bible that's going to turn them off so fast yeah because they're not believing so it's that's just not part of their experience so they're just going to leave and if you're getting unsavoryattention talk about the word every time it'll separate them just run away yeah pretty much that's right um let's see okay let's see it's not for when I started talking let's see talking to Micah I made sure we were on the same page belief-wise because I couldn't deal with that again oh boy Esther you've dealt with someone who didn't believe the same belief-wise what now you're in the message I'm guessing you talk to someone you talked to someone in the message too so I'm guessing it's like an in it's an in message thing what was the differences exactly Esther that you're referring to with the guy um you can just reflect if you start talking about the new birth and they start falling asleep I'm not gonna say names out turns most people off so fast yeah um so what what was the what was the difference but what was different I I know I'm just saying for the people who don't know all the things that we do what uh what um what was different about them then that made it where you said uh you could you had to make sure you're in the same page belief-wise what does that mean s yeah some people you just you're still talking about oh yeah the Bible and like what's your favorite scripture and they go like oh John 3 16. yeah oh yeah John B16 uh God loved the world and um uh oh oh Jesus wept I love that scripture love that one that's the best Jesus when he heard them say that I mean okay Esther fair enough I have no idea who you're talking about but maybe other people do so it's all good I understand stuff uh all right as soon as you talk about the scripture they will leave I used to uh play brother Branham at the lowest possible volume on my phone when I had a million customers or just like filthy ones and they would stop being so filthy or leave and you couldn't even hear about the brand but I played with this this quietest volume in my pocket Mike serious question you think you could beat Joseph cockman in one-on-one uh I already have I don't think anything's changed I was gonna say yeah he's bigger and stronger and taller so yeah definitely and I've already made him on multiple occasions so I don't I don't see the point of that question I know I know I've heard he thinks he's better now which is fine I mean you know we can always play it again what about John Michael though of course I don't know why look guys guys is I'm better I'm him there's no there's no one else when it comes to basketball there's not a lot of confident message honestly but I mean Joe Joe and Mike Joe and John Michael are pretty good you know but nah I I think I'm taking them in a one-on-one very easy not not easily but it's going to be a good battle but I think I'll come out on top either way neither of them you know anyone what really Separates Me is not that like it's it's just my my defense like really because my offense is not my offense is like serviceable like because I play I play at a gym where like I play people who play like for college they play overseas they play professionally and the only quality that I can really hang with those guys is defense like my offense is not as polished as those guys but my defense I'm usually the best defend like when like everyone knows like it's to the point where everyone in my gym knows that if there's a tough guy on the other team I'm guarding them because it's my defense that's really like Kobe and Jordan in that way you take that I guess take it personally no I I might I'm just a defense first minded person so my defense is what is my best quality in terms of basketball what would you say then is the best way to play defense like what do you what do you mean defense like how do you make it where you don't you don't fall for their fakes and their Crossovers and stuff like that ah this is okay this is it's pretty easy actually the problem is people don't play smart defense so number one rule of Defense you play defense with your body and not with your arms okay I see people too many people hand checking they're doing all this that's hand checking okay just because there's no reference so you can really you can tell who played high school basketball and who didn't based on how they play because there's certain things that people do where like if we were there was a referee around you'd be off the game because you've been in foul trouble already but really the thing is no like really honestly let people shoot like not let them shoot completely but the lamp is always going to be easier than a three-pointer so I I'd rather you sag off on everyone than be really close to everyone and be able to absorb contact when they come at you so I feel like I'm giving a basketball lecture now but this is good it's good good stuff keep going I'm I'm absorbing this yeah you wanna you wanna uh always always anticipate a cut to the rim you stay between your man in the basket at all times don't let anyone get a free pass to the room and just defend the shot but don't defend it as much as you would defend a layup unless they've already made like making them consistently then and most people aren't going to make them consistently so most of the time you can just live with the shot like with Joe Joe and Joe and John Michael I just live with their shot they're it's okay I'm fine with that yeah talk about basketball ugh because it's awesome it's the greatest ever come on would you did you ever play me at all Mike when I was like maybe I don't know like or I'd be around eight years ago at byc or something like that well I was practicing all the time way back way back then um push me now but I mean back then maybe in like a knockout game night back when I was practicing all the time now I I don't like to practice I need I want to some um but you know for my next one-on-one game to make sure that it's actually Fair 5 000 are out no defensive three seconds in the lane uh and when you do those things then I think could be closer Maybe yeah the Packers beat the Chicago Bears today uh I don't watch football so what you don't watch football we can't be friends man I barely even watch basketball to be honest I watched a little bit I watched I'll pay attention to the playoffs most of the time but during the regular season I'm not all I'm not too into it interesting I say can uh can Jerry become a pro if he grinded hard starting now with zero prior experience in basketball no Jerry's a bum he'll never get there sorry there sorry Jerry you're bummed it's not happening how old is he he's like he's like he's around my age he's like 21 22. yeah you can't start at 22. like this very few people who do that and and they are genetic exceptions to say the least like they're like I don't think Jerry's a genetic exception sorry like I think maybe like Giannis and Joel embiid started at like 16 or 17. so like you have to be like a freak of nature to start playing basketball in your 20s and make it to the pros and Jerry's not a freaking nature even though he's gorgeous he's great he's a good looking man but he's no Christian nature okay what about me anything I can try no no look I don't even I don't think I'm good enough and I'm better than everyone in this life and and some so like even even I don't think I'm good enough like e and and perhaps we could say I think that even if I went back in time and we did basketball like my religion from birth I think maybe I could be like a bench player maybe because there's so like the level of competition is is insane because people don't realize like I I have perspective I went to a school where like they the varsity team finished top eight in the state and like one of the guys I went to uh I I played I played practice with he's now playing for Auburn his name is Noah girl you all can Google him if you want but his name is Noah girlie I had another teammate named Ricky Knight who uh I think he I think he was a senior now but he played four years at a D2 School averaged 10 points and he was he's a really good player at our I think if you go I think if you play college and you can average 10 12 points I think you're a really good player I'd say anyone who can anyone who can play for college for D2 and up and average 10 points is better than me for sure so I it's the people just don't have perspective on the competition and I'm just glad that I went to a school where like people were good enough that I could tell I could realize that I wasn't good like people think I'm cocky because I'm like I can beat anyone in the message and I truly believe that with all my heart but like I know what good players look like and I know I'm not one of them and I and I can also look other people like y'all and know that y'all are not one of them either so I could be y'all but you know I have perspective on the level of the game and I know where I'm I know I'm not good but I know y'all so you're saying like like it's not necessarily like oh I'm bragging but like it's like for instance it's like uh well not in for instance you just sing you've played so much did you did you play any in college I did not play anything I played all four years of high school I never played any college guarded college players and stopped them I wouldn't say sometimes it's competitive like there's there's some college players I can stop but you're also especially like six five I'm six three six three like two twenty five yes sorry oh no yeah I haven't played you I haven't played Sarah Callahan in basketball so I can't I can't say I'm better than her I mean it's not it hasn't been proven yet so there's a chance yeah maybe maybe it'd be interesting I mean I what's your record for the most uh free throws you ever made in a row without missing I have no idea maybe 20 some I don't know 20 20 what something I don't remember I mean it wasn't like a big thing where I was from to like make up the bunch of free throws in a row like we practiced it just for games but like I don't remember in game problem it could be like probably 20. because I remember those there was one there was a few high school games where like I did not miss a single free throw and I got fouled a decent amount so I could have had 20 free throws so you play four years high school basketball yes sir what'd you average employment I have no idea I've never really checked the stat I I some people have like a Will Chamberlain mentality where they want to get a bunch of stats and some people have like a blue muscle mentality where they want to win and that was my mentality was just to win like I I honestly the type of person I am I'd rather ride the bench on a winning team than the average 40 on a losing team like that's just that's like some people don't like that some people want to have like a part to play but I'd rather write the mention of winning tape I really don't care I'd rather be on the winning team than be the best player in a losing team honestly I agree so that's the whole thing about it interesting well I I understand like four like how many people message could say yeah I did four years of high school I'm six foot three I'm in great shape and I've guarded college players a lot in experience like it'd be like uh if you uh play tennis at a in high school straight level really really well for you know four years straight of course you're gonna be better than the average person who don't um I think I think Joe cockman actually played tennis for college so yeah he's I'm I'm the uh I'm the joke I'm the Joseph Kaufman yes interesting yeah interesting I think basketball like anything is a game of repetition you know repetition repetition repetition same Tribbles it's also Talent hard work you got to be big maybe kind of I don't know um I did play this in college guys a couple times when I was practicing a lot which was a lot of fun they were huge they're like six foot six um they love playing with me I hit a bunch of Threes it was it was super it was a lot of fun um but it was it was super cool um so like then please don't don't tell me you think LeBron is the greatest of all time please Mike please I will never say something so idiotic yes so Jordan it's not even close it's really not even close well hold on hold on William biseman just said I can't Ball but I beat him in a I'd beat him in a 1v1 this weekend and Labor Day weekend crazy this weekend literally Labor Day weekend I beat him 1v1 so I don't know what he's talking about interesting hmm interesting will I'm gonna have to now about uh Kobe I I put Kobe number two personally I think that's crazy really well I think just because Kobe Kobe was actually good oh yeah he's terrible beat more 50 win teams in the playoffs than any player to ever exist and he's definitely not good Kobe is slightly overrated I would say that he's my favorite player of all time but he is slightly overrated he's top 10 for sure I think wherever you put Kobe you have to put Tim Duncan right next to him because they have almost identical careers so I think I think people like I think people over rate Kobe a little bit and I think they underrate Tim Duncan a lot because they have both have five rings both have I think the same amount of MVPs both have I think the same amount of fun with MVPs I'm not sure but they have very close careers and people are able to sleep on a lot I understand that but here's the major difference though Hall of Famers in the team Tim Duncan had three go build one and yes because push people away like with Shaq and like other like like good players he he let his ego get in the way to the point where he wanted to be the main guy on the team yeah like there's been a lot of behind the uh behind the scenes stuff where like Kobe was very egotistical and like I get that he wanted to build a team and and be that guy on the team but at the same time like he did push a lot of talent away so he I felt like he could have had I feel like if Shaq and Kobe stayed together they could have won like 10 Rings like they would like who is stopping a Shaq and Kobe working together and like if Shaq and Kobe had a good friendship they would have had tenorings I I really think that yeah I think if if Shaq would have worked out like Kobe he would be the greatest of all time not no question man I think so too he he already had like three ring four rings and he wasn't even trying on the fourth one I watched this guy right I googled this I was I was curious um and he did like a 21 minute video saying about how Kobe was actually the greatest of all they used to make the case for Kobe to be the greatest of all time he definitely has an argument um I'll have to send it to you but it's very very convincing some of the points you made was he's beat more is be more uh more 51 teams than anyone else ever has in the playoffs he had the hardest road to the finals ever um he let's see what else he has more more all defense versus first teams than anyone else to ever live you know there's there's things like that I'll send you the link to it but it makes a very good uh case for it is his name Clayton uh uh no it's um let me find here hold on I think I know you're talking his name is uh let me find it here his name is scap attack oh I don't know I'll send it to you it's really good I really enjoyed the editing is good and like the it's uh it's interesting Jerry calling me a sports nerd sports that's cool bro that's awesome Jordan averaged 32.5 points of the game in his uh career in 35.1 of the playoffs hahaha I mean it depends what you mean by grade of course but I mean I personally I'd rather have Kobe than Tim Duncan me personally but it's just after watching this it changed my mind because I used to have different opinion but it'd be certainly interesting but LeBron is not the greatest of all time I wouldn't put him he's good but you know no one has ever won or been beat more with with uh let or more uh help better but that's why okay people hate what we're talking about so we can do a whole live where we talk about all about basketball but we should probably move uh uh let's see man Eli you have like every single thing you ever say is like the polar opposite of what I think I'm gonna start calling you Skip Bayless he's just he's just throwing out those hot takes like hot cakes yeah man he's just gonna you should get a uh a career in the uh sport talking thing you should be at the next Skip Bayless or something like that say the opposite of what everyone else is saying Esther's losing brain cells that's okay Esther you didn't have that many to begin with so I didn't even know she had breast cancer cells and you can't lose what you don't have man come on that's what I'm saying she's in debt now negative brain cells that's crazy yeah I didn't know that was possible I mean okay so here's a way to Pivot I guess so basketball you know when I have kids you know if they're not an athletic who cares you know I want to be athletic but it's fine it's about teaching you know consistency and uh losing failing getting back up keeping trying keeping to try more you know uh by God's grace my my statistics that I love my guys Grace I did we are getting ready to show free throw get a layup wherever you get the rebound and put a layup in I once said that 27 times more without missing that's the best I ever did when I was passing all the time I hit eight or nine out of ten free throws a lot but um yeah Mom that's what I'm doing I'm pivoting from basketball um so like you know you said just be who you are so you talk to people about what you believe what do you mean by just be who you are uh be a child of God you know like especially when people are trying to Pivot you in other directions you'll be getting negative attentions from negative or positive attention from uh the other sex or from people for certain things but you know just don't forget who you are like like Mufasa said also says that in the Bible but you know don't don't forget who you are where you come from that you're a child of God and that your ultimate purpose here is not to not to please others or to please yourself or to you know try and satisfy everyone or or try to be the coolest person in the room but it's really to to satisfy God and to do his will and then to be a be part of his family and not part of you know what the world wants you to be and a lot of times if we're trying to uh if we're trying to appeal to those around us we forget who we are and that we are we are children of God and that we need to follow his will and not the will of you know the cute girl at school or you know whatever whatever the case may be for you if you need to remember who you are and what your purpose is here you know as Solomon said you know the the conclusion of the matter is that we're here to serve God and that that's the conclusion of all of life is that we're here to serve God you're living for Jesus is uh living for others you know what do you how do you think we should represent what we believe in a positive way you know I think some examples of it may be a negative way negative ways and then we can pivot into a positive voice a negative way is just to being too legalistic is being uh because especially with people who are unbelievers if they see you and try to talk to you and all you can do is just look at them and see all their you know they're they're not dressed right and they're not they don't talk right in the cuss and they do all these things and they drink and they smoke and they if that's all you can see you know because because honestly that's us like that's us before God Saves us is is just all the the sin and maybe we weren't doing drinking or smoking or or maybe we were dressed properly maybe we were raising the message home so we were dressed properly and following the law accordingly even though we didn't have the new birth experience we're still just as filthy as they as they are now that's that was our current state and so God picked us up and cleaned us up so when we see other people who are still in the mud still living filthy lives we shouldn't be so judgmental and trying to you know every little thing in their life trying to like hey you need to do this do this do that you know we should we should be patient and understanding of where they're at in their experience or their potential experience because because if you come on too strong and try to say well this is this and this and then wear a skirt and don't wear makeup and and all these things then you just throw the book at them throw the law at them and then they don't they don't get actual experience with God because they and and that's what I've seen from people who leave churches and leave out leave uh these things they just see the Bible as a book of rules like there's they don't see the love there they don't see the patience and understanding and the the sacrifice that Jesus made for their sins they just see a bunch of people criticizing them for not following the rules correctly and the problem is if you you can follow all the rules correctly but if you don't have an experience in your heart it's not going to matter that you're following the rules because you're not actually going to know the person who made the rules and the point of following the rules is to please him but if you don't actually care and you're just doing it because other people told you to you don't have to have a genuine experience deep on the inside you know where it actually matters so don't be legalistic be patient with people be understanding even a little baby step like if someone's like just completely out on the world and doing things you know and maybe one day they just stop wearing makeup because because the conversation that you've had with them you know that that's that's that's a victory in and of itself that that's the small thing or maybe you know that guy like even though it's 90 degrees outside he's like he's wearing pants because he thought about the conversation you had with him talking about modesty and that small little Victory is is something to tell about you know and and sometimes we want to jump the gun and be like always wearing pants now well you also got to do this and this and this and this and this like no just just be like okay well he went from wearing shorts to wearing pants like that's that's something to think about like I remember uh when I was in a moving my moving job uh there sometimes we have to drive like hours to the next we'd load the truck and then drive hours in this location and sometimes I'd be on my phone on my Bible app just reading the word and my uh crewmate is in the back back seat and you saw me reading the Bible and he actually told me one day that like I started reading the Bible again because of you because I saw you in the truck on the just reading the Bible on your phone and to me that was just so amazing that like he could just see me reading the Bible and that would make him want to pick it up again just to see me reading the Bible so like that to me was like wow like that that's amazing like I I if I were if I in that moment would have said oh well you also need to do this this this and if you believe the Bible you need to stop smoking stop doing this and like if I just load that all on him in that moment that kind of takes away from that little victory that he had and now he's thinking back to oh the rules and the these people and because I've I've seen so many people or someone who's been in public school and someone who goes to college in person uh there's just people I think people want to live a holy life they want purpose in their life and when they see you living that life like I I was actually very uh it was perplexing to me and confusing that people would I would tell people what I believe and how and what I do and that I I abstained you know from intercourse before marriage and I I don't drink I don't smoke I don't cuss and they have a lot of respect for it which which kind of surprised me because like in high school it was more like eh but in college for some reason there was a lot more people who were like you know I really respect that I really and I kept wondering like why don't they if they if they respected so much why don't they live like that why don't they and they would talk about you know their Church experiences where they would go to churches and they just felt so judged and so condemned that they uh uh they just they they felt like they were being pushed away because of all the con the people people instead of showing people showing them the love of God people were just throwing the book at them throwing the law at them and they just felt so condemned and they felt so like almost like harassed like someone just hit them and they just it just hurts and they don't want to go back to church because everything they go they just get criticized the whole time you know and that's what that's what kind of pushes people away even though they respected everything about my lifestyle but they just couldn't go to church because they felt like it was just a harsh and criticizing environment so if we as Christians can just set up a uh like brother Brandon talks about setting up an atmosphere or or creating your own atmosphere and just being that pillar of light flavor of Hope being that lighthouse in that place people can come to you and talk about things and not just an immediate place of judgment but just to understand where they're at in their Journey you know and just just taking those baby steps and taking those little victories like oh well you know they might not be going to church again but they picked up their Bible because they saw me reading it or you know they thought about you know if cussing was okay they they reconsidered and or maybe when I'm around they don't cuss as much or they don't cuss at all because they realize what I believe or now they're thinking about their own you know sexual acts and thinking like kind of put it in the context with what I'm saying and thinking like maybe this is wrong maybe this and just those little considerations over time spending time with people is really what gets them to an experience it's not just throwing the book at them and telling them they're centers and lost and they're bad they're going to hell but it's just living a life in front of them so that they can glean from that and they can kind of see like oh like that's that's God like God is not you know shaking his finger at me and yelling at me and criticizing me and slap me over the face because I did something wrong but God is like here like like I love you this is how you live this way and it's not it's not I just rules but it's about you know an experience with God and that's what makes you live a life it's about it's about almost protecting you in a way the way God protects you from certain things from from doing those immoral things that will honestly hurt you in the long run as opposed to the pleasure that you might feel in the short term and and them realizing that you know God like the love of God as opposed to just the criticism and the the harsh rebuke that they they felt so much in the church all really good stuff how do you balance out then um then you know because these are or because the things that you mentioned they are things people do need to change but how do you balance that out with um talking to these people about these things they are things that we shouldn't do but we want to be effective so how do you think we can be effective as message people message kids to get these people to change these things or to change who they are I think I think really we're we're not going to change them we have to just get them together to get to God we have to get them to to Christ because we like we can say oh well you know wear this and wear that and don't wear makeup and don't do this and don't do that but really we just need to get them closer to the scripture so they can have the Revelation themselves you know like we we of course want them to live right and dress wholly and and follow the ordinances that God had given us but we cannot then you know just tell them to do these things and force things upon them we can say you know what I think it's like you know if you believe the Bible if you believe if you're a Christian then you believe the teachings of Christ so what Christ taught and was taught in the Bible are these things and it's it's interesting because a lot of people will claim to be Christian but they don't really understand what Christ taught when he was here and they don't understand those things but if you can point them back to the Bible and point them back you know to those things then then they can figure out for themselves they can get closer to God themselves they can enter into prayer they can enter into all those things things and kind of get themselves an experience rather than us just trying to shake our finger at them and whack and say hey you're doing this wrong but of course you want to change go ahead I think the whole thought of you know us shaking our finger at them if someone really is approaching that way they're doing it wrong because we don't do these things or not do these things maybe because we're raised in it but now when you actually have an experience with God it's not because of a rule book it's because of a relationship with God and when they see us and we're living we're trying our best to live this Christian life isn't because of the the uh not doing something it's because of who we are if we don't drink smoke gamble or whatever else not because we are but at least we think were something or we think we're employer than anybody else is because of our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and it's not about these rules we want to be effective and like someone says what gets these people go back to church and get comments like well I haven't seen you in a while where have you been I don't know why that's just annoying when I hear people say that someone's trying to get back trying to get back to church it depends on who they are because sometimes people do need that maybe they're in the message before or something like that but you definitely want to be effective Eli is a story like that because race people when they come as they are and let God do the rest um yeah I mean it's uh I always want to understand to a guy he drank he spoke to the other things and he kept on saying ah David I I love being a good profession but I could never stop smoking I'm like bro I'm not trying to change your actions I'm looking to change your heart to change who you are from the inside out and your actions are between you and God God didn't come to to save your flesh he came to save your soul and it's not a work of the flesh it's a work of the spirit and um you make me makes you fall but we don't we don't get perfect in our flesh and then receive a holy ghost we come to God to change who we are from the inside out that's why people say oh God looks your heart well a man's heart is deceitfully and desperately wicked and is worthless above all things or something like that he said or uh deceitful above all things we're looking to change who they are so someone says um people love to feel power and control but what they don't understand is you can never control someone and into believing how you want them to some people just love to argue yes and we need to you know different differently um between those that would pop up in his prayer so I'm trying to read through these why do these go down when they actually talk about stuff that needs to be talked about because um actors relatively close to the same as it was before but it's because uh one of the things is like my dad tells me is people that don't need to go to the altar go to the altar people that do need to go to the altar sometimes don't go people that um are doing the right things and they are in the right places they um Wanted dedicate more of the life to God and people that aren't in the right place they don't want to dedicate their life to God um I think we should leave the changing of the Holy Spirit guiding them through personal conditions that align with the word yes uh yes once you accept Christ sorry I have to read all these uh once because on the on the live when we post on YouTube no one can read these once you accept Christ you will want to follow the law out of your love for him you don't clean it first before going to rehab go to rehab accept the help and then get the clean as a result so is Faith before works and that works for Faith I used to love to debate with people and call things out and that was so toxic to be honest I was totally out of my Lane looking back you can tell if they're interested in what you believe or just want to argue right off the bat so thankfully I recognize if I wasting my time more well that's good for you sister that's awesome I used to literally do the same thing and I had to get rid of that too um you don't get in the shower cleanse but you get wash and cut clean like when you put things into the blood when you come to Crystal Vance and written the best thing about the gospel is realize what Grace is and that you don't have to do anything yourself um yeah a girl I used to know asked me why I dress the way I the way I do and I told her why she made the tried to debate with me yes Grace really given to those living questions it's so simple yeah because there's a difference between a debate and a genuine conversation if they say well what do you mean by uh the Bible says uh Deuteronomy 22 and 5 or first Timothy 2 and 7 or whatever else and ooh what do you mean by first Timothy 27 22 and 5. you know there's a difference um and I think if someone wants to argue we shouldn't you know we can say hey I'll discuss it with you but ultimately what's the absolute is it what the Bible says and if they could say oh well the Bible said the way back then but that's just where way back then it's not for now then you're thinking okay what's the real absolute because if we can say yeah I'll take the uh you know the saying John 3 16 part of the scripture that's for me but wearing what God wants me to I don't want that me personally you're picking and choosing um so you have the BAM exercise in the quote just walk away if they aren't genuinely interested yeah sorry riddle those we're very conveniently Interrupters right at that moment Levi Poe this podcast should celebrate I've already had leviable on when you can see someone is just trying to mock or argue there's no point in trying to switch Mike it's black and has a white background I'm white and I have black background all right I give a bunch of thoughts I'm sure you have some thoughts yes uh I think something was one of the things Zach said well let me scroll back and see it again Zach is the homie of course he said it's always Faith before works and not works before faith and that is so true because I heard a some I I I saw this one video where uh I think Ben Shapiro was talking to somebody and he was talking about like he because he's Jewish and he's talking about the Jewish faith and he's talking about how um oh yeah you do the works of God you do like the the ordinances and then you realize oh yeah like this is good and I was and and they he just had to come the Jesus had it completely backwards because it's actually that you get an experience and then and then the works kind of come it's not that you do the works and then all of a sudden it's like oh I believe now because that's kind of how he was explaining it and I was just like whoa like that's completely backwards because you know you don't do the works and then the faith that magically appears so you have faith and then God give you the strength to perform his works you know so it's not you're not going to do the works to gain favor with God because the Bible in the Bible says that you know our filthiness is like Rags before him so we're not going to gain God's favor by doing works you know and and that's what that's the thing about you know other religions is not as much grace like even the Muslims they believe that they have to pray seven times a day or like they have to go to the mecca to do all those things because they don't have a Grace they don't have a sacrifice that that like Jesus came and sacrificed himself for our sins so they don't have that so they just believe in work if the work work work work and then you'll find favor with Allah or something like that but the truth is that Jesus died for our sins and and that's that's where the grace is and then we do Works to please him and according to his word because we love him and not because we're trying to we're trying to gain favor with him but we're not doing it because like we're scared of him and we have to and we're doing it because we want to you want to go to church and we want to live right you know the same way if you're in a relationship with somebody you want to please them you don't do it because like well I guess I gotta do the dishes for my mom but it's like oh my mom's tired right now she's had a long day I'm gonna go do this for her so she's not you know so worn down it's more out of love it's not uh it's not a nine-to-five job it's a loving relationship where you you do what you your partner needs or wants you know to satisfy them because you love them can you make me a moderator please no how do I do that should have an option somewhere like one of the three little dots or something like that oh Adam moderate okay um oh gosh I don't know what I'm doing uh I'm gonna read David Christian and submit or whatever or reply I think I think because you're on with me it's not you're not popping up for some reason okay cool um yeah it all makes sense it's uh say Esther Curtis sorry I need to say Esther black for my entire life except for a year ago or whenever they got married um one girl when I was a kid made fun of me for skating and a skirt at a skating rink one time and I was like if you saw how ugly your legs were you'd want to wear one too she got roasted man oh my gosh let's see yes and I wanted to address these second Timothy from sister Lily black I'm gonna try to tear people's names second Timothy yes uh second time to tune 24-26 I've used up so much in my relationships my brother who is I believe the same person in particular who loves to debate in the message I want to say this the message not to debate is a revelation we're not in this message maybe initially because we're racing it but we're not continuing to be this message as adults because we figured something out or because we love to debate it it's a personal revelation and it can't be convinced out of you and it can be convinced into you and nothing can remove it for you you can take Sam Harris Charles Dawkins and uh Neil deGrasse Tyson all of them in the room I don't care how smart they are they tie me up in a thousand knots and I'll not change but I believe but Lord Believe by God's grace because God predestinated us to be here and it's a revelation not an intellectual conception if it's an intellectual conception they can believe whatever sign they want or disbelieve the sign which is what it should be called um because it's not based on intellectual understanding it is a revelation and a righteousness is this yes from is that black and William uh busy bison or whatever uh and the Catholics worship dead Saints um really black again I'm not sure if he surprised the whole believed the same thing but he does a lot of reading it's anti-missist resources well you shouldn't it's not an intellectual thing it's a revelation every single person in the message in Bible that ever done anything for God you could intellectually try to hold something against them Jesus healed them the Sabbath Moses married Ethiopian uh the one Prophet married a harlot uh you know brother Brian and preached in Africa when God told him not to everybody has something you can intellectually go against them but it's a revelation Jesus said eat my flesh and drink my blood if it's not an intellectual conception it's a revelation you know sorry I'm going to preacher mode I don't mean to you uh let's see you know whatever witness I always try and tell them not to look up up because it's full of entire stuff um let's see it's had to move people leave the message because brother Brandon made a mistake as he is if he wasn't a human being before being a prophet just kind of show us how weak some people's faith can be um let's see shows a faith in a man of God he used to be productive he has an answer for everything well can't tell not to look online degree social because I could shoot up and spit out well it's a revelation and God can change people better than anyone else any of us can um and once sometimes when I worry about saying the perfect thing Jesus said everything perfect all the time and they killed him for it and he was more right than anyone else has ever been everything he ever did and said was perfect and they still uh driver's license is black so I guess it still counts they got my social change but I'm flying a lot so I've been in my lessons fair enough uh William Bozeman gotta have faith in God in the man working through the man that's right um leather black it's very true let's see our Eli cross we've got to control the truth yes um that's very true people people that reject the message think we are delusional but it really is a revelation they don't take your stuff more seriously until they have their own it's a revelation um see I'm sorry that's a lot of these um see I have free it's real tough situation it sounds like they're gonna walk away so you don't excellent that makes the blasphemed at the same time their families are walking away is hard that's right I almost left myself right before Jack and I met and it took having my own experience to bring me back into it and he revealed to me it was the truth through that experience I just consider myself very blessed out of the Revelation Yeah by God's grace you know one of the things I want to do on the channel is because if anyone's watching this and they think what's the message I'm gonna do a I'm gonna do a uh do a uh alive with maybe with a Trevor eamond maybe a pastor somewhere or whoever else you'd like to on what is the message because I'm only 22. I'm almost 23 but that's pretty much let me give someone on just to say you know and have a very uh thorough discussion of what is the message um now is Mike have you ever heard that quote about if there's anything we can do within ourselves we didn't need Jesus Christ to die for us yeah that's I would read this one for anybody who hasn't because it's really really good uh Eli we're not changing the subject right now um Perfection 1957. if there's anything I can do actually it might change it this way actually it won't let me whatever um he said if there's anything that I can do to make myself perfect in the presence of God then Christ did not have to die for me if there's one thing that you can do that would marry anything in the presence of God then Christ had died and then the law keeping the legalistic ideas of yours none of your Holiness no things that you could doing quit lying quit stealing quit smoking tobacco quit going to the picture shows still you are lost nothing can do it to any Church's ritual ceremonies baptisms orders of the church readings of Creeds saying of prayers all those things would count nothing you were lost not one thing can you do in yourself for your sinner under condemnation and there's not no way within yourself or any Creed or anything that you do or think of of yourself that could mirror one thing in the presence of God because you are a sinner to start with so so it's uh you know we
