======================================== TRANSCRIPT ======================================== live today we'll be talking about toxic co-workers and managers and what do you mean by number 22 something like about a tree workk and one time I accidentally spilled 64 on soda on my coworker so things like that in this live tonight what's up Elijah welcome to the live we are here hello to everyone that's joined what's up I trimmed the beard so we shall see what's up guys my hair looking perfect for everything maybe I just do that because I like to think or when I'm thinking I'll uh trim or scratch my hair do it I have no idea hello everybody so talks to co-workers and managers I have had quite a few of those um a lot um a lot just a ton and uh it's made me into who I am today though you know it's there's annoying things and there's fun things it just depends I guess um it's it's been awesome by got God's grace though um if you guys want to those that of you that are here if you hit the heart button a a bunch of times it tells everybody uh to join the live so the topic I was just promoted today for manager oh well be a good manager I know you'll probably do great Anna you probably do awesome okay I'm GNA get right into it guys I'm going to pray and then we'll go from there well thank you for this day and for all that you've given us please bless this Live use it for your glory and honor and for all that you want it to be uh help me to speak about these things the way you'd want me to Father ask it all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ amen okay what's up Ben so today questions about my stories are welcome about my questions are welcome those two questions are welcome for sure questions what's up Ben okay so toxic workers what is this what does this mean as far as toxic people so it doesn't not referring to the people I'm referring to the actions you know if you talk about actions of someone you're not I wouldn't say that you're necessarily saying bad about someone else if you talk about something they've done repeatedly and have not repented if they've repented of something it's a little bit different but if they make it part of who they are and they're toxic then you should talk about it and you should uh you know different things these are all none of these people are in the message or anything like that these are just people that I have worked with through my life if you have any questions please post them so and I trim my beard so we shall see it's the first time I ever did it so I'm sure it isn't perfectly symmetrical but we'll see I guess um so when I was 14 I did tree work right I did it with my Uncle Tom Tom short and he had a helper one of the guys that climbed the trees because Uncle Tom was almost 60 years old and he couldn't quite do everything in tree work and he uh what's up Ben so one day we're driving and I'm in the passenger seat and we would go to Speedway and get these sodas they were 64 o sodas for 69 Cent it was amazing it was beautiful you don't even need a membership to get it at that price but 64 on sodas for 69 cents it was amazing and so you know get like Dr Pepper or Diet Dr Pepper and it was it was great and uh you know 14 working you know basically 10 11 12 hours a day I could that was when I like tried to do pull-ups I could do eight pull-ups in a row it was amazing it was a lot of fun so I handed him a drink accident in the wrong way and he's driving this big giant bucket truck stick shift and everything and he accidentally catches him the wrong way and it spills all over his seat and he's just like oh well embrace the pain right it spilled all over the seat and I felt so bad I'm like I'm so sorry he's like it's okay it's a hot day it's all good David and it was his drink all of it spilled all over the sea I was just feel so bad for him it was it was the worst um it was it was really sad for him but hey I had my drink all filled so that's what was important um he was a little toxic because uh he would see like we drive past colleges and there'd be girls there and I'd be like bro aren't you married he's like yeah but just cuz you're already ordered doesn't mean you can't look at the menu and I'm 14 I'm like oh Lord please help this man it was fun though it was it was a ton of fun um so I had someone at uh at Wendy's so I I when I was 16 worked at Wendy's actually at first I worked at Crystal and then at Wendy's but crystal is very meaningless honestly I did not enjoy it at all it's some really what's up Mom uh pretty strange uh managers at Crystal uh it was it was quite the time but it was honestly a lot of fun um unlimited free drinks was a pretty big perk coming in to work at Wendy's hi Mom coming into work at Wendy's uh and um getting a free Frosty free frosties all day that was amazing it was just beautiful um and I had this lady that interviewed me her name was Shannon and she was super nice always smiling always happy always wonderful and she was always super cool I had a negative worker I said I was going to talk about the toxic co-workers managers but I'm talk about the good ones too um his name was guy's name was Caleb and he would constantly always try to get me to fight him now keep in mind I'm only 16 at this time I think he was 18 and you know I was homeschooled this is right around the time that I finished actually I think this is right after I finished high school um and he's just constantly trying to get me to uh to fight him and also trying to get me to say vulgar things and trying to get me to look at it was just a lot of really strange things and so um I just had to learn to ignore them do my work I finally get management involved and say hey you guys I I understand it's normal for you guys to do these things but I'm I'm I'm a I preach I song Lead I play instruments at my church my father is at Pastor I have never even kissed a girl my whole life I I don't do drugs and smoke or drink or anything like that you guys have got to stop this guy so they did by God's grace but it was was pretty toxic honestly but uh by God's grace a while after that um I had some fun times after the uh after the forest fires in Gatlinburg right we had had um we had to do some cleaning there and so I uh we had to go through a hotel room and clean the walls clean the Ceiling clean the floors do a deep clean of the entire place and I had a ton of fun because I'd bring my little Bluetooth speaker and I would listen to Lord of the Rings in The Hobbit music and clean it and like deep clean the whole thing and I cleaned more meticulously than any almost anyone else they told me which is kind of cool uh cuz I'm very meticulous and detail oriented and so uh it was super fun also I was one of the the only guys that worked there so uh anytime they needed any of the girls needed a uh a big giant you know refrigerator or bed or anything like that move they'd say David David and I go over there and move it for him it was awesome it was it was just a ton of fun and moving the uh beds for them and then like listening to Lord of the Rings in The Hobbit music all day while cleaning a hotel room because they would have people that would join that were 30s in their 30s and in their 40s and uh they wouldn't want to keep them because they were druggies you know us message kids are pretty awesome so you know but the B said the best the worst a Christian can give outweighs the best the world could give so it was pretty fun I I really enjoyed it um now during that time I didn't have any toxic workers with me which by God's grace which was neat actually we did have um some people that we were trying to witness to and they said they were Holiness but when they uh when they went to work they wore pants which is hilarious because they had to climb ladders I never saw them climbing ladders but who knows that was a hard time on me actually cuz my dad told me like don't talk to them about any doctrines like don't cuz I I had a lot of studying and I'd say overall knowledge of stuff but I had no control or wisdom whatsoever so dad just told me just stay quiet don't say anything to any of them and I did that but it was infuriating because they talked to me I remember one of them talked to me one time as as if I didn't know anything about anything it was about baptism trying to tell me that oh well the certain way is right I'm just like please please please don't ask me about this and I was able to navigate through but all in all we were never able to have a discussion with them because you know instead of saying yeah brother let's let's talk about this this Doctrine thing or this uh baptism thing they said oh we we'll see what we can teach you so you know we we really couldn't get anywhere but it was fun it was cool also at Wendy's the manager and her daughter were super nice as well they're super friendly it was super cool um what's up Levi welcome to the live if you guys have any questions send them my way um went through some a lot of working but it's it was a a ton of fun so and I haven't even got to the fun ones yet guys this is just the history just waiting until I get to the real fun ones so also I get to learn to tint for a year with Sarah my sister and Anna teaching us and some with Josh and it was a lot of fun and then once I got in the back of a car and I had to hold this piece of tint and just you know try to get it right it was infuriating I hated it um it was super hard to tint like I was a big giant guy trying to get in a really small back window and if I messed anything up I have to do it all over again it's just like no and it was enough work go around so dad told me I had to look for a job right so I looked for a job and I got a job with a company called t-rock the revenue optimization companies actually one of their mottos uh at the job I use for my everyday life have fun and never take yourself too seriously they use that all the time but my job was to stay in electronics at Walmart and to talk to people as they came in help them with whatever they came in for and then trans the transition the conversation to hey who do you use for wireless service how much do you pay monthly which phone do you have how do you like your phone you know trying to get them to buy a new phone basically and it was a cool thing because I wasn't trying to get them to buy a new phone at full price Walmart would take you know $200 off of a retail price on average and in a lot of cases actually like for instance when the iPhone 11s and the iPhone 12s came out they moved the iPhone Xs and the iPhone XS Maxes to like uh 200 bucks or 500 bucks depending on what storage option so you know they move in like half price so it was it was pretty cool it was pretty interesting taught me a lot but when I started my manager's name was Derek cool guy awesome guy a lot of fun the problem was I only saw my manager once a week and when you're a manager I was a manager too I I'll get to that later but when you're a manager you set the pace for what your workers can and can't do so if I was late he wouldn't care if I if someone I made someone angry he wouldn't care he literally didn't care at all whatsoever now also by God's grace I was one of the top performing salesman so that's one of the reasons why I love working in sales is is even if people don't like you even if you're late if you're selling a lot no one cares like at all you can be late a lot you can be not liked but if you're selling for them a lot you'll do very well that's not to say I'm a jerk or anything but I it is to say that I do have a history of a hard time getting along with Absolut with people that you know at a foundational level object and uh contradict and live against everything that I believe in what is the subject of the live discussion tonight Mom it is about my uh toxic co-workers and managers and the positive ones so people that I've worked with the positive ones and the negative ones do I own any Firearms I do I have a uh a 20 I have a bolt action Savage 22 and Josh and Dad and Thomas have a bunch of other guns too by God's grace um pretty cool um ja guns are awesome um so tck I had a coworker um his name was Brian and uh he was really good at sales the issue was is that he lied to customers a lot he uh was neat and he was he was good as a job the problem is is he lied a lot your box your boss is toxic I think you're your own uh boss right just uh Deb Second Amendment exercisers yes yes we are so uh my uh my manager didn't care what we did by God's grace the first month we were there we sold more than any other store in our district and we were like the smallest Walmart out of all of them so it was pretty cool um it it was awesome I really I really enjoyed it it was a lot of fun the problem was is that Brian was very toxic in that people would tell me that behind my back they'd say a lot of negative things about me like oh David only gets sales cuz he lies to people David only gets sales cuz he's tricking people and here I am you know like 18-year-old kid like no just doing my best coming to find out I had to fix a lot of his mistakes when he when people would come in he asked me to help some of his customers that come back when they Li when he lied to them like literally the day I got hired with Derek as my manager Derek had to help take care of and talk to a customer that Brian just flat out lied to by God's grace he got a little better when I was there he didn't lie as much the reason why is because when him and I were competing for customers you know someone would into Electronics we both go after them we decided to take turns and then you know after people wanted to buy from me more then he's just like hey why don't we just go back and forth and the sales I'm just like sure okay so we did that I shouldn't have done that I should have said no way we can take turns you know going after certain people or whatever like customer comes you help them next one comes I help them but uh no I'm not giving you my sales but I did unfortunately and he gave some to me but I gave probably 80% of them probably as far as giving sales to each other I gave 80 I gave as far as giving I gave 80% % because I by God's grace I was effective at people um buying new phones from a postbit account you know buying them on like a payment agreement and things like that um but as I worked there a lot it was fun the issue was is like the desk where I would type at was designed for a short person and I would sit there or I'd stand there and type for hours and like be with a customer help them with a thing and let me get you this every single Wireless company one of the reasons why a lot of things don't work is because they invest almost nothing into their computer systems like their computer systems are so trash half my job was dealing with the dumb computer systems making it work anyway and so like I'm standing there like this trying to type you know and uh it was like you know half my job was not fre not you know being negative when things didn't work and uh I had and I grabbed a chair so I could sit down while what's happening grab my customers chair but they didn't like that it's really weird at Walmarts they're not really nice people they're actually I would say Communists they don't they didn't care that we were the number one producing store in their District they didn't care that we individually sold more than any other store just about we were sitting down with customers while we were waiting on hold for hours or waiting for information of a customer to to transfer and they didn't want that because they're Walmart workers whose job was to basically be categor uh stock Shel people and uh and um and uh they stocked the shelf and and they kept track of stuff they see did you ever have a toxic person you work with changed to a healthy coworker that brought energy and good things to the table CH were they changed to a healthy coworker that brought energy and good things to the table um yeah but that's a later part of the story uh later part of the history I guess I'll get to that later um so so they wouldn't let us have a chair it was hilarious um it was weird it's just like well I told them like when we're waiting on hold for someone to pick up and we're helping them our entire job can be done from a wheelchair or from a bed guys really we're just talking outside of walking up to the customer you know when we're behind the desk typing stuff up or waiting for something to load or for data to transfer or for customer service to finish something up for us because our system was very basic and all that it could do was Place orders and look at previous orders we'd have to call customer service for everything else we didn't have a special link we had the same thing as customer service you guys know how that is so you know lot of the job was you know submitting the same order several times until until it would work it would be to deal with a thing not working so it was very it was it was hard but that was our job I believe that's why we were pretty effective by God's grace is because I Ed the stuff we learned as Christians be like hey no matter what we're going to be positive like yeah it doesn't work but hey that's my job I'm going to help it work for you sir I know the system's not working but I'm going to make sure it works for you all you need to do is just sit there or stand there and wait for me to make it happen by God's grace I was finally able to get a chair after they would not let me they said bring us to the doctors no so I did and they still didn't do it I had to bring them a doctor's note and a chiropractor's note saying hey let them sit down so they finally let us sit down it was and uh so we did by God's grace come with my customers too we sit down and do sales continuing to be the best store in the district by God's grace and sales and so um okay oh I can tell you this story this is a strange story so there's this guy I forgot his name I remember his name but I won't say his name uh he was he was some denominational guy I think he was I I forgot what he was but um he was single and he was like in his 50s weird guy short guy weird energy knew I was a Christian but when I have my hands on the on the desk when I was standing there he would come up and put his hands on my hands like oh your hands are really cold David and I'd be like that's really weird so I talked to my my parents and they're just like tell him to stop doing that so I did one day he got all offended he never tried to talk to me again it was the weirdest thing guys it was very strange so so yeah it was it was pretty crazy so then one day we accepted a trade in and I didn't know what to do so I asked one of the Walmart managers how to do it and technically they weren't my managers by the way my managers from T my managers so I uh I asked um one of the one people how to do it they they said we'll just take care of the trade in turned that they were wrong and it cost the store like 600 bucks or something like that and the one guy that did it wrong was so mad he was though even though it was his fault in the contract with Walmart they have the right to request that a t-rock worker be uh not allowed to the store and they used that even though I had done nothing wrong and I was their best salesman they said we don't want him here anymore even though I did nothing wrong it was because when my manager asked hey what happened I said I did what he told me to do and he got in trouble he got written up for it from his mistake so he said I don't want to be anymore it was the weirdest thing so that's pretty strange yeah I know it was it was terrible so that's okay though um so then they moved me to Madisonville and that was pretty fun honestly Madisonville a mile from my house selling and uh had the same manager and little while actually they changed my manager when I switched to Madisonville his name was Shawn super cool guy he was actually a good manager in a lot of ways he was I'll explain so he was a good manager as far as I could tell he was conservative and I know I know there shouldn't manag but that shouldn't matter but it kind of does honestly um and he uh he was super nice but he tried to get me to try to work Sundays and Wednesdays Wednesday nights and I was like I'm not going to period and then you know after some discussion back and forth he fin they said fine you don't have to uh work Sundays or Wednesday nights except if it's Black Friday so like okay cool and uh so I worked a lot then to well by God's grace and um there it was the same thing so our job was sustain Electronics right sit there or stand there and wait when no one's coming to electronics there's nothing we can do so it was a strange idea to say no you when I was like okay cool I'm just going to grab a chair and sit down and wait for people to get here like no you have to stand because the Walmart workers have to stand I'm like they do because uh their job is to ring people up and stock the shelves and to do inventory my job is to sell people into buying phones which by God's grace I do more effectively than anyone else out of our eight eight store District you know so it was pretty strange and we were the top store in the district and in sales if you're selling more than anyone else actually you're not supposed to care about stupid things like are you standing or sitting up or sitting down it was weird so the security would take screenshots of it and send it to my boss saying he's standing or he has headphones on while and standing next to where the phones are while while working I did because no one was there for hours and so I wait for people as soon as they come there I would take the headphones off and help them and either way that would that shouldn't matter because we were the top producing store we sold more than stores in Knoxville stores in Chattanooga stores in cities that were literally statistically 25 times larger than our town we sold more than they did by God's grace so yeah it was pretty crazy um toxic it was just dumb like no you must be standing up you can't be sitting down it was it was really strange and so uh it was a lot of fun and then um for a while my other worker quit and then it was just me run working at the store by myself but it was still a ton of fun honestly and they and they hired someone new his name was John he was a big time liberal unfortunately big liberal and let's just say I didn't have the wisdom I some a lot some of the wisdom I do have now like I don't have a lot but more than I did when I was 18 and uh Sean was still my manager and um oh yeah one of the positive people that my mom talked about that changed things his name was Andrew Bry and he was conservative and he loved making jokes and him and I had a lot of fun once he once he started working in that department him and I had so much fun it was amazing he made the days so much more fun and uh it was it was pretty cool however though we had this department manager in Madisonville her name was Selena and she had it out for me all the time it was I I don't know why no matter what I did she had a problem with it and she constantly complained to my manager to my managers trying to say that I was doing something wrong or we need to get him out of the store really it was because I was a Christian because let me put it this way guys people making dirty jokes sleeping around with each other cussing and swearing all the time and I'm the I'm the one that is a bad guy I I wasn't doing anything wrong I was actually selling more than anyone else in that store had ever sold it was pretty strange so it but it was fun um well I just keep going um so hold on one second so I uh kept going kept trying to sell and then um John you know he was he was a socialist and he was a communist basically BigTime liberal and it was hard to get along with him so I had to come up with some uh compromises I guess which worked hard and there wasn't a week that went by that he didn't call out I don't think he ever worked a full week in a row he'd always take one or two days off and by God's grace I never took any I never called out sick and callic all the time it was pretty toxic it was hard um and and um but it was great by God's grace it was it was a lot of fun the security was weird they would like oh yeah and then what happened next coid happens right so then they have to wear masks it was pretty strange and so we you must wear masks no matter what like I took my self my mask down for half a second once took a selfie and put it back up they sent with someone from security to tell me hey keep your mask up even though everyone that was a customer in the store was allowed to go in there without a mask it was strange they were staring at me on a camera in the store trying to get me in trouble and I was doing nothing wrong it was the weirdest thing we were the top producing store one of the top producing stores in the state and they're constantly trying to find issues it was it was pretty hard it was honestly very very stressing on me here I am you know doing my job my job was to sell phones and by God's grace I sold more phones individually than anyone else almost in the entire State and and they constantly were try complaining to my boss he's sitting down when he's supposed to be standing when customers are there and they're waiting on hold he's insisting that he must sit down even though ways a doctor's note and a uh caror note right a doctor's note caror note letting me sit down instead of having to stand while I'm working it was pretty strange but I kept on going by God's grace and then I got a a new manager called Garrett Garrett was cool I loved Garrett Garrett said I don't care what you do I don't care if all Walmart hates you sell he was pretty cool unfortunately the girl named Selena every time she tried to find issues with me she tried to say you're sitting down too much or you're you're not helping customers enough like we're producing more than anyone else it was very strange so what I did next is I um I we when no one's there you know we lean on the counter just waiting for people to come up and when they would we would try to help them it was pretty interesting but if you guys have any questions about anything by the way I can I'll answer them I'll uh try to engage or we're wait we're back very cool um so um you guys want me to keep going I can go to different subjects it's all good um I'm basing that on engagement it's kind of funny the large percentage of people ask for 10:00 then people don't show up but that's fine I'm thankful for the people that are here if you guys are liking this let me know with hearts if you aren't please let me know I can switch to a I can just cancel this out and say I'm doing a goded Q&A or something like that um please let me know those of you that are still here uh or say nothing depending but it was it was a lot of fun by God's grace and uh so Selena the one that always found a problem no matter what it was pretty strange um she got promoted and the day she got promoted she uh tried to what's up Josh Martin welcome to the live the day she got promoted she tried to get me fired when I wasn't doing anything wrong she said when customers came in and they wanted to buy something our job was if they weren't if they weren't interested in anything to do with electron ICS then um we would we would tell them hey the Walmart worker will help you and they wanted to ring up some milk we're not supposed to do that for customers and we said I said hey wal more will help you and she tried to say that I ignored the customer and I was really rude to them and even the customer standing there saying no he wasn't rude to us he's the phone guy he told us to wait for a Walmart worker because that's his job and he did nothing wrong but she tried to make that argument like no you're wrong you're rude to them we're kicking you out of the store you're no longer allowed to be here and here I am producing more than any other person at the store ever has selling them literally let see in my time for tck I probably sold over $2 million in phones for them by God's grace and you know selling 30 40 50 60 phones a month and they could barely sell five before I got there in a month was pretty weird um it it was pretty strange so um that's kind of funny when it says there's only two people and I look and there's like six people it's hilarious um so I I kept on going kept on working doing my best and actually though they weren't taken by managers Walmart was not my management tck was we had a contract with Walmart for us to sell phones in there our entire goal of being there was to sell phones and we did that more than any other store in our district or even in our market so it was pretty strange honestly and then when my manager would get there he would say hey I have to pretend to yell at you in order to keep a good relationship with Walmart and I'm like what you have to pretend to yell at me to to be angry at me like that doesn't make any sense man it was very strange so I I kept on going from there kept on working doing my best and uh so they what's up so I welcome to live so they insisted they wanted to kick me out of the store even though I did nothing wrong just because someone that was a jerk to everybody and we could and liked telling people what to do wanted me out so that was though when I had put in like two weeks to go and try to work for Verizon or sightly sales selling phones driving to different stores and um so I uh it was pretty hard on me honestly when I was selling more being more productive doing my job better than anyone in that position ever had and all they were trying to do is you're standing when you're supposed to be sitting you're or you're sitting when you're supposed to be standing when we're literally just waiting for people to be off of on hold it was I worked more overtime as a sing employee than any other entire store in the district out of 51 stores I worked more over time than anyone else any other store put together because that's I was dedicated to my customers it was pretty extreme it was a side effect of you know uh trauma we went through growing up with family members so yeah it was we did our best and I did everything that I could to sell by God's grace we were very successful but they never were pleased and they they never said hey great job with the sales they said hey you're s you're sitting down you should be standing up even though there's no customers in there and all my job was when there was no customers in electronics and there was nothing for me to do what was my job that was it stand there and wait for people that was my whole job when there was no one there and they was no you have to stand up and wait for people you can't sit down now if I was not selling a thing I'd understand but we were selling more than anyone else it was they're Communists don't go and work for wal if you do find a different job David I love the bird thank you I I trimmed the bottom of it I'm sure it's not perfectly symmetrical but I tried I'm trying I got the beard stuff uh took the vitamins for it um doing the beard oil the beard roller different stuff like that so I'm trying we'll see Lord willing glad you like the beard Gideon glad glad you like the beard what's up Lon welcome to the live talking about my work history so basically finally she got her wish she got me kicked out of the store even though I done nothing nothing wrong except offending her I found out later on that a reason why she would do that is because she was in a previous in a previous relationship she was domestically abused by her boyfriend and also every time see in our in our in the uh Walmart department of electronics there was guys and girls workers anytime a girl did something wrong she barely reacts she's like oh that's fine so and so if a guy did something wrong she would have them she would force them to walk over where it was I told you to put this in this part of the section and you put it there why did you put it there Andrew every single time she cleared something against man so here I am I don't drink I don't smoke I don't do drugs never even kissed a girl I don't cuss I don't swear I don't tell I don't tell dirty jokes people literally and I had a coworker called uh L Landon I think it's name Landon yeah Landon Chavez or uh something like that he came into work high as a kite almost every single day and she had zero complaints about him and he couldn't sell his way out of a paper bag he was a nice kid I enjoyed working with him honestly it was a lot of fun but he couldn't sell I had to I had to help him the whole time he never really got any good at it he was a cool dude I enjoyed hanging out with him and he came hi in hi to work but what he did have that I didn't have is the is he was he was with them you know he was part of their own little social Gathering that's why I try to separate us as message Believers from the rest of the world when it comes to the social social situations CU it does matter what's up Eli how's it going so I was just going on about how when I was working selling more single-handedly than anyone in the state of Tennessee that they hated me and still tried to find problems with me and the person that was my cooworker hardly sold a thing and he came to work high on marijuana every day and they loved him Walmart politics it was literally it was a lot of fun though I had I did my best we had to call into this call center right this is the final part from T Rock we had to call into this call center and when someone answered it was called warp Walmart something and let me tell you something these big companies the reason why it takes forever to store isn't because the people are bad well sometimes it's because of that but a lot of the time it's because they've invested almost nothing into their computer systems they'll use a computer system and try to use it as long as possible and never update it like I even offer said guys I will write you a check for $2,000 to buy me a better a better tablet to sell on so that my customers sales don't Take 2 and 1 half hours they take 25 minutes or less and they wouldn't do it for some because of some stupid corporate rule I offered to give them two grand to buy a better system and they wouldn't do it it was it was just where was I where was I on that oh yeah had to call in to warp every time something wouldn't work I had to call in because our system had almost no capability and I and I realized these people on I call hello my name is go this problem I realized they had different names for how good they were at their job because every time someone called John Michael or Spencer they said hello hello my name is John anytime one of those guys did it they would fix the problem within five minutes or less and anyone else would take the same exact problem and take like two hours or 20 minutes to fix a problem that someone named John Michael or Spencer could do in 20 minutes and all the girls were terrible no I'm not saying girls can't be good at Tech but the girls working in India for this tech company whatever for Walmart were garbage they were the worst and any guy not named John Michael or Spencer so I think that they ranked People based on their name so what I would do is I would call this call center when when I needed when I couldn't do anything more and I had to get them to activate it for me I called them and if they answered hello my name is David I hung up hello my name is l I hung up I kept on calling over and over and over again until someone said hello my name is John John Michael or Spencer and once someone named John Michael or Spencer answered then I said the problem on the order number and they helped me if it was a girl anyone named John not named John Michael Spencer I'd hang up and keep on calling I once called 11 times before I got someone named John and then they helped I figured that out on that job it was it was super cool it was it was a lot of fun honestly it was the way that we figured out how to win that's why I like sales is it's less about like you must be here at this time you must do this certain thing like no just sell that's what we want you to do we want you to sell phones do it do it really really well we don't care about anything else and I like that be effective so my time came to an end at t-rock and my last couple days I they had to move me to the Athens store because when the girl got uh promoted even though she tried to Corner me see the Walmart work Walmart manager were not supposed to pull us aside to get us to uh try to coach us on something and here I am by God's grace their top producer one of the top producers in the state by God's grace 51 stores I was the top producer by God's grace one of the top ones and it's not because I have a special gene or anything I just you know I I'm a big phone nerd and I have the Holy Ghost by God's grace so that really helps [Music] so and I you know I would stay with customers I want to stay with the customer 8 hours a day for over the course of like 5 days before we got his phone working and it was totally worth it so um she finally got her wish but what I did though is I played I played along with her doing dumb she was never supposed to pull me to the side and try to correct me on anything if she did that she went against the contract with Walmart so what they wanted to do was to be M be uh what's the word pedantic to try to get try to rule you over some stupid detail that was their whole style had nothing to do with nothing we were producing more than anyone else they were just being weird so what I did is I I secretly recorded her when she took me aside with some another one of the other workers that was the tire and the tire and the Tire and Oil Change shops manager and tried to say you did this D David and you did that and I was just like oh I see I'm so sorry I'm I recorded it sent it to my manager he sent it to his manager that manager sent it to Selena's bosses bosses bosses bosses boss so the guy that managed every person that managed every state of of the nation and almost got her fired over it they should have got her fired but we almost did um it was so satisfying though like they caught her in so many was like no David you have to do this when in actuality she was never supposed to take me aside so that was pretty fun I sold a couple funds my last day too so I was pretty happy about that my record for the and they their their goal for us I'll give you guys an idea of it by God's grace um why do you say by God's grace too much that always bothers me when people say you say by God's grace too much what else do you want me to say by by my amazing ability I'm going to say by God's grace and I'm not going to apologize for that um so our goal for how many phones were supposed to sell in a month was 10 my record for the most I sold in a day is eight my first day there I sold five by God's grace it was a ton of fun and it was super cool Brian my original work from tck and anyone that's still listening from still remembers from that anytime I see him now in regular life he ignores me he like oh hi David I worked with a guy for like eight months every day I helped make him thousands of dollars was really weird it's pretty strange so after that I went into cell sales I went through this training program program almost all the way to the last day I was late a few times because it was my fault and uh and also I embarrassed some of the trainers in a in a session where they got uh they got all of the trainers they got all the uh new trainees together and some of the actual workers and they said a customer wants uh wants to do this this this and this what is this what would you try to sell them and I had a better answer than anyone else said even the managers and I knew more about phones and carriers than anyone else there by God's grace because my experience and lo and behold person I knew more than I did better than in training um I was late a couple times one of the times was because of big accidents I even told him about it and the last time our our store opened at 8: a.m. right and I uh had an hour and 45 minutes to drive and I got there at 7:47 so after that they said oh that's the final that's the final blow we're dropping you from the training because you were late a few times and I was doing better in the training than anyone else by far uh what's the topic for tonight the topic for tonight is toxic co-workers and managers that I've went through and nice co-workers and managers that I've went through so I kept on trying with this job when I was doing the training I did their training exercises so fast they thought I was cheating because I've been doing the same job for the last year and a half prior and I could could do that job very well by God's grace and I think they were jealous and they found something to be hold against me you were late a couple times and then they dropped me from the training even though I was doing better than anyone else by far so but by God's grace it was a blessing in disguise because I would have had been driving to a different store every day an hour to two hours from my house one of the stores was 4 hours from my house every day in Knoxville and that was was going to be really really tough on me and also you'd have to do all the inventory every single day this the the pay was 100% commission and you had like a bunch of people you worked with so it was different but God has something different I think Godless just fail sometimes to get get us to go better so then I apply for different jobs and the one I like the best was Ford so Ted Russell Ford Lincoln on Parkside Drive in Knoxville Tennessee I worked there for a few months I learned a lot some really good stuff in sales I was also a third guy hired in a row whose name was David so there's three Davids at the same store all of us new hires and I was the number three that was hired and to differentiate myself from everyone else since I was younger than everyone else I wore a suit and tie every day to work a three-piece suit or a regular suit they called me David threepiece it was awesome I loved that job I loved the I Lov that Nick is the best nickname I've ever received David threepiece my nickname was threepiece so when they would call the other two Davids for the sales David one to the sales desk David 2 to the sales desk when they called me they called David threepiece to the sales desk when I'd leave customer voicemail say hey I'm David Ted Russell for Lincoln a Parkside Drive uh look for the guy in the three-piece suit that's me and I'll help you with your car so it was fun the problem was it was you know 45 minutes from my house the the ships were 8:30 to 8 which usually more like 9 or 10 if you actually to do anything like selling anything and everyone was very aggressive was laid-back dealership by God's grace but um I wasn't very experienced and I was doing well my last month there actually I was selling I sold about my drawn made some of the most I've ever made in a month I actually still have my record for the most money I ever made in a day I made $1,600 in a day because I sold a uh an $80,000 truck to a to a Construction Group they needed a truck that could pull 26,000 lb and they didn't care what it cost you used to have three jobs at once yeah me too it's a lot of fun it's cool um so uh worked super hard did my best and uh it was just too much it was too was I had to leave I had to leave the house at 7:30 I got home at 11:00 at night 5 days a week it was just too much Monday Tuesday Thursday Friday Saturday I didn't work Wednesdays or Sundays they respected Me by guys s was neat the managers did and they're like oh well so people would complain like why doesn't David after work on Sunday because he's got a respons responsibility to his church problem was though the normal behavior to them was the sinful terrible Behavior to me they would tell dirty jokes flip each other off for fun say blank whatever all the time until it was the the the most hilarious thing there was a guy he was a toxic coworker he was he was he was hired there he was a new worker he was a big bronny fit guy and I'll say he was a big giant black guy people that can be white can be bad people that can be black can be bad anybody can be bad so it's a big black guy his name was Nate he was also a pastor's son the problem is is that he backslid from his Pastor from everything and he went into the world completely he was very fit and every it was like he tried to challenge me constantly like as an alpha whatever it was the weirdest thing and he found out that I had never kissed a girl in my whole life he's like oh you've never done this insert sexual act here it was crazy and I couldn't get him to stop he was very weird and um pretty hard on me honestly uh you know I was only uh how old was I I was like 19 or 20 at the time time and um I'm doing my best I was enjoying the work but you know it was uh and I came back at him with some clean comebacks you know to him but then he would walk up to me like what do you just say right into my face and it intimidated me it was really hard on me and here he is you know AB he abandoned every goal he was ever taught and every standard he's ever instructed of by his parents and here I am living up to the trying to live up to the standard and just constantly there was a there was a customer that came in the lot and I tried to help them find a car and then when I went inside to grab my business card um because they had to go uh home for the night CU they were just looking which is Lie by the way um he hijacked my customer and went behind my back and said oh I'll help him David's not here my I told my manager about that and he got and stop doing that he almost got fired over that but it was just too much it was 8:30 to 8 which really with the driving it was 730 to 11:00 at night 5 days a week it was a lot and unless she sold a lot of cars would make very much money I a lot of fun workers had uh Calvin Stevens which is still my favorite in-person manager I've ever had he was awesome he was straightforward he was so obsessed with selling cars like I'll give you guys an idea how amazing he was he sold 16 cars a month for 35 years for reference the goal is eight so he doubled their goal his his personal goal monthly every day or every month for 35 years straight and when we weren't selling that many cars he would uh uh he would be up at night he would be anxious and have anxiety and fear like at 3:30 in the morning like why aren't they selling some more cars he was amazing he was he was pretty cool pretty cool guy and he always tell people try to be respectful and stuff like that and uh I miss selling phones though I've always loved selling phones and uh I enjoyed it though I knew that I could get better at it but it was just so many hours and I was becoming very aggressive with my family because of the way that it taught me to be and that's effective for selling cars but it's not effective for being with people so um let's see Also let's see a guy named Joel he was also super nice um a guy named David I helped him get his new phone and set stuff up he was super duper nice a guy named Jason he sold Lincoln's he was super cool as well uh Harley again name Harley we had a big beard he was super nice um bunch of people I loved working with him though I I hated leaving I had to though because I was just working all the time I was going at 7:30 home at 11:30 at night Monday Tuesday Thursday Friday Saturday it was really hard on me and when I and on Wednesdays I had to either preach or song Le on Wednesday nights so I basically sleep in when I go home I'd go straight to sleep Sunday I had to go to church so it was it was hard so after that I um I was looking for a different job for phones and I applied to Prime Communications I applied about um I applied once did the interview crushed it by God's grace did the did this stupid personality test I think personality test by the way are 100% dumb when it comes to uh like oh you have we have to gauge your personality see if you could be a good fit for the role people can just lie so did it and failed it but then I took it uh 11 more times and applied 11 more times and I MA text messaged called emailed Facebook messaged Instagram messaged Tik Tok messaged I messaged the manager of every store in the state 13 different ways and finally got a hold of him and he finally called me back and said hey DAV why do you want this job so much I said because I know I'd be good at it so he put me in a store an hour from my house and I was working um still a lot of information and I'm feeling pretty tired honestly um let's see how do I want to handle this okay here's what I'm going to do guys I'm going to stop it here and continue next time with prime Communications in that whole story and get more notes so that I have more thoughts my my thoughts more put together I'm going to stop this live and I'm going to see if I can get someone to come on with me and we'll talk we'll do something we'll do a different topic um probably godhead or something like that and uh because I'm feeling pretty tired and um I can go on I I can keep on going but um I'm just going to pray and end out this live and then go on to the next one we'll talk about something else because I'm pretty worn out honestly and I could keep going on this but I'm not getting a there's nothing wrong with you guys just not getting ton of Engagement um so I will uh be got back in just about maybe 15 minutes or so so I'll pray quick and we'll go on to the next one Lord thank you for this day for this live hope it was fun for people and entertaining and cool to listen to please be with us in the next one in Jesus name amen all right on to the next one guys
